At STDS-Jantz, professionals in the GWW sector have come to the right place for advanced (foundation) drilling equipment and machinery for more than 40 years. In addition to an extensive assortment of auger drills, hydraulic drilling motors and pile driving machines, the varied assortment also includes a wide range of equipment for installing self-drilling anchor piles, anchors and tubular anchor piles. Versatile tools sourced from Emde Bohrtechnik, a name that stands for top quality as well as customization. For any job to be done in the field.
For the Benelux, STDS-Jantz has been the official importer of Emde Bohrtechnik's high-quality drilling equipment since early 2021. The partnership has now resulted in a comprehensive range of drilling tools that can be used for installing anchor piles. Before talking about the solutions provided by the German company, Marnik Janssens (who heads STDS-Jantz's Belgian sales office) mentions the function and added values of anchor piles. "If adequate measures are not taken, tunnels and underpasses, for example, can start to float due to the upward pressure of groundwater. To prevent this, anchoring floors using anchor piles is the most efficient and effective solution. Anchor piles not only ensure that tensile loads are transferred to the subsoil, they also lend themselves perfectly to an application as pressure elements. So the knife cuts both ways."
As a renowned manufacturer, Emde Bohrtechnik offers various drilling tools manufactured from first-class steel. In many types, lengths and diameters. To begin with, the standard range counts tools for both single-tube and lost-tip drilling and double-tube drilling jobs. "The latter group is perfectly suited for the installation of strand anchors, for example," says Marnik. "In that context, Emde supplies all the extras needed for this, including flushing heads, rotary and hammer tubes, ring and percussion drilling crowns and lost points. If self-drilling anchors are used during the work, then coil heads are also available for different rod brands and insert ends in various designs."
For HDI drilling (drilling with high-pressure grout injection), Emde Bohrtechnik also provides an answer that best suits the drilling method used. "Including competent advice and perfect after-sales from our side," is how Marnik emphasizes the strength of STDS-Jantz.
A special project
In the French Alps, Rhône Alpes Fondations installed a prefabricated nail wall within a construction project. With a height of 20 meters and an area of 2,500 m2, the vertical structure has unusual dimensions. Self-drilling anchors with an injection of cement mortar were used to install the base nails. The drilling machine was equipped with accessories from Emde Bohrtechnik. Thanks to the proven technique, the project was completed successfully with a total of 10,000 meters of nailing (500 x 20 meters) (see image below).
