Steelwrist launches QuantumConnect - the next-generation tiltrotator control system platform

Steelwrist, a world leader in tiltrotators, quick couplers and excavator attachments, today announced the launch of QuantumConnect, the next-generation tiltrotator control system platform for Steelwrist tiltrotators. Building on more than 15 years of control system experience, QuantumConnect introduces a new level of operator experience, ease of installation and connectivity, all designed to maximize excavator efficiency. Since introducing its first control system in 2008, Steelwrist has installed tens of thousands of systems worldwide. With QuantumConnect, developed in partnership with SVAB, a world leader in advanced control systems, Steelwrist is once again raising the bar for tiltrotator technology.

Key innovations with the QuantumConnect platform

QuantumConnect represents a major step forward in tiltrotator control technology by combining breakthrough innovations with a modular system architecture. State-of-the-art components form the core of the platform, making installation, operation and support easier than ever. The new A9 joysticks set a new industry standard with improved ergonomics and functionality. The operator can choose from two or three rolls, features a 5-way mini-joystick switch and benefits from comfort-enhancing features such as heated handles. Safety and productivity are further enhanced by haptic feedback, allowing the operator to receive instant tactile signals from the system.

Thanks to its modular system design, QuantumConnect can be easily adapted to any make or model of excavator. Specially built modules such as the QIO modules convert CAN data into analog and digital signals, allowing smooth integration with machine functions and external systems. The Tiltrotator control module is integrated directly into the tiltrotator and provides precise control of valves and sensors, while the AUX module provides flexibility for managing additional hydraulic functions, such as blades, outriggers or offset booms. If the display is not integrated directly into the excavator's HMI, an optional compact touchscreen in the cab provides the operator with a clear overview of system status and notifications. This provides transparency without adding complexity to the system.

Connectivity is at the core of the QuantumConnect platform. The new Connectivity Gateway module provides wireless communication with sensors and components while also managing 4G connections for cloud backup, wireless software updates and remote diagnostics. The result is a system that is not only more powerful and versatile, but also future-proof. It is fully prepared for next-generation tiltrotator hydraulics and MiC 4.0 integration. Moreover, the system is seamlessly compatible with leading suppliers of GPS Machine Control Systems.

Easy installation with InstallMate

Thanks to QuantumConnect, the days of complex and time-consuming installations are over. The platform is designed from the ground up to make the installation of tiltrotators faster, more predictable and easier to support in the field. The combination of modular components, compact design and machine-specific wiring harnesses eliminates the need for extensive custom adjustments during installation.

Central to the installation process is the new InstallMate app, which guides technicians step-by-step in multiple languages. Predefined templates for each make and model of excavator make system configuration simple, while cloud-based storage ensures that machine settings can be securely stored, cloned and restored across multiple excavators. InstallMate also provides local language installation support, further reducing complexity and allowing technicians to provide a consistent experience. Because installation manuals are continually updated based on feedback from worldwide usage, the system becomes easier and more efficient to implement over time.By addressing both physical installation and digital configuration, Steelwrist has created the most user-friendly tiltrotator control system on the market. Designed for the operator with connectivity for highest uptime

The QuantumConnect platform is designed with a clear focus on the operator. Every element, from joystick ergonomics to system integration, is designed to make the excavator easier to operate, more efficient and safer to operate. Proportional control of all tiltrotator functions is standard, with automatic calibration of the hydraulic valves ensuring smooth and precise movements while optimizing fuel consumption. Operators can create individual profiles and tailor the system to specific attachments, while the ToolRec feature wirelessly detects which attachment is connected and automatically adjusts the tiltrotator settings.

Safety is another central aspect. LockSense, Steelwrist's next-generation sensor-based attachment locking system, is fully integrated into QuantumConnect and provides clear, reliable and secure locking on both machine and tiltrotator quick changeovers. Optional track and wheel steering allows operators to operate the excavator without releasing the joysticks. This saves valuable time and improves ergonomics during continuous work.

In addition to ergonomics and safety, connectivity ensures QuantumConnect always delivers optimal performance. Availability

QuantumConnect will be gradually introduced to the global market in 2025, starting with selected Steelwrist tiltrotator models and later expanded through the company's global dealer network. The platform is fully supported by both the QuantumConnect app and the InstallMate app, available for iOS and Android.
