One point of contact for scaffolding and support structures

The scaffolding and support structures of Muehlhan Netherlands (Muehlhan BV) are
a fixture for construction consortium De Groene Boog in the construction of the A16 Rotterdam.
So too in the coming period, when the replacement of the viaduct in the A16 over the Main Road (KW58) will take place.

Except for the land tunnel, we have been involved in every piece of engineering work on the A16 Rotterdam, begins Mo Achahbar of Muehlhan Netherlands. "Surely the most extensive subproject for us was our contribution to the viaduct over the Terbregseplein. For this we designed and supplied a large number of scaffolding and support structures so that De Groene Boog could safely build the piers." All structures are designed and calculated in-house by Muehlhan Netherlands. The strength calculations are provided by an approved third party. "Everything is thus double-checked," assures René Linders, commercial manager of Muehlhan Netherlands. "We are known in the market for our creative solutions. We look beyond the specifications and that often benefits the speed, planning and feasibility of a project."

Pillar jetties and more

De Groene Boog also called on the expertise of Muehlhan Netherlands for the replacement of KW58. "For example, earlier this year we urgently built four pillar scaffolds for the installation of the temporary artwork (TK58)," says Wilco Mettrop, project manager at Muehlhan Netherlands. The pillar scaffolding has since been dismantled. Mo adds: "Now we are designing the support structure for the realization of the pillar beam at the center support point of the new viaduct. We will build that later this year in two phases. We are also providing the necessary scaffolding for the two abutments of KW58 and there is another support structure of ours elsewhere on the project. And should there be a need for additional systems, De Groene Boog can always knock on our door. It's a matter of one phone call and it's taken care of." 

Muehlhan Netherlands has therefore been a trusted partner of the companies within the consortium for many years and has been involved in a wide variety of infra projects, ranging from the Oostertoegang and the Haringvlietbrug to the control center in Scheveningen, the Zeesluis in IJmuiden and the Galecopperbrug, and much, much more. "We focus more and more on the complex projects in infra and industry, not only with scaffolding and supports but also with steel conservation, rope access, fireproofing and insulation," René concludes.
