Based on a concrete need from the construction sector, InfraTech and Matexpo are joining forces to launch a new trade fair under the name Techni-Mat. It will be a trade fair exclusively for professionals on techniques and materials for infra and structural work.
Behind Techni-Mat are two experienced exhibition organizers from the sector: InfraTech and Matexpo. InfraTech is a leading knowledge platform for the Dutch infrastructure sector and organizes a trade fair for more than 20,000 infrastructure professionals in Rotterdam Ahoy in the odd-numbered years. Matexpo in turn is the largest construction equipment exhibition in the Benelux, where more than 1,500 brands from all over the world display their latest models. Matexpo welcomes more than 40,000 construction professionals every two years.
In search of diversification
Gregory Olszewski, Managing Director Matexpo: "Matexpo had been looking to diversify its portfolio of trade shows and events for some time. With the know-how and team we have in place today, it is clear that the ambition extends beyond the organization of the Matexpo fair alone. That is why we were looking to develop our own new initiatives, whether or not affiliated with the construction sector. But a joint venture was also an option." Gert-Jan van den Nieuwenhoff, General Manager Rotterdam Ahoy: "With InfraTech, Rotterdam Ahoy serves the entire Dutch infrastructure, construction and installation sector. But just like Matexpo, due to concrete interest from the market, we saw an opportunity to use our expertise and know-how in other areas as well."
New concept
Techni-Mat is a new concept for all players within infra and structural engineering. The trade fair focuses specifically on general construction and road building contractors, technical directors, buyers, calculators, study bureaus, site and project managers, general management, governments and private clients. The exhibitors are manufacturers and exclusive distributors of building materials for infra and structural work, specialized contractors, study agencies and trade organizations. The focus of the trade fair is on techniques and materials. Indeed, due to lack of time and knowledge, the sector needs contact with contractors, project or site managers. So it will be one platform for all solutions under one roof with direct contacts between manufacturers and decision makers.
The targeted sectors are:
The trade fair will cover these sectors, divided into zones and with theme squares. The ambition is to attract at least 100 exhibitors and 3,000 visitors (professionals only, the trade fair is not open to private visitors).
After the successful Matexpo Demodays, Matexpo is now launching the Techni-Mat trade fair in 2020 together with InfraTech.
Practical
TechniMat will take place for the first time on March 25 and 26, 2020 in Kortrijk Xpo. For cost-efficient participation and optimal contact with visitors, an all-in concept will be used: uniform stand construction, furniture and catering for all. The partners and sector organizations will provide a complementary content program around themes such as Building Know How, foundation techniques, road conference, sewers, intelligent information systems, training and public sector themes. The organization is in the hands of Gregory Olszewski of Matexpo and Gert-Jan Van den Nieuwenhoof of InfraTech with Gregory and Saskia Vernooij as exhibition managers.
