"This takes place under conditioned conditions in our modern concrete plant in Steenwijk," says Leicon director Henk Jan Röfekamp. In addition, the strength of the factory lies in the generously sized production lines and the high capacity to make serial products.
"In addition to our serial products, we specialize in producing project-specific precast elements. In a special production hall, the high-quality robust concrete solutions are produced with which we make a substantial contribution to a traffic-safe, accessible and accessible infrastructure." Röfekamp explains that Leicon's technical field service advises and supports contractors in the construction of precast elements. Geert-Jan Aalbers, project manager at Den Ouden Aannemingsbedrijf BV : "With this, Leicon distinguishes itself undisputedly from other manufacturers. When realizing a complex project like the bus station in Roermond, that is a prerequisite for success."
The renovation of the bus station in Roermond, commissioned by the municipality of Roermond and carried out under a UAV-gc contract by Den Ouden Aannemingsbedrijf BV of Schijndel, is part of improving the overall station environment into a beautiful regional mobility hub.
Arcadis Architects developed a plan and engaged Leicon because of its knowledge and expertise in concrete solutions for public transport. Luc Veeger, Arcadis: "In Leicon's office, completely littered with samples and ideas, Röfekamp supported us regarding the materialization and implementation in practice." An incredibly fun and exciting process, Röfekamp adds. "The passion for concrete and the enthusiasm and skill of our entire team, is in the DNA of our company."
Leicon supplied the precast concrete elements for the stop islands. "From a basic product, project-specific molds were made with unique elements. Tree grids designed by Arcadis were included in the bus stop islands because two trees are placed per island. Of course then you have to take into account watering and the islands have to be pick-upable. We made that functionally possible with these concrete elements. Our rock-solid work preparation in our air-conditioned factory contributed to a short lead time which limited the inconvenience. This has a positive impact on sustainability." Rob Rosenboom, Roermond Municipality: "Now that the trees have been planted and the sustainable lighting has been added, there is a beautiful end result. The new bus station is a lot safer, more accessible and clearer.
