A safe workplace on and around the railroad

A safe workplace on and around the railroad

For many years, Saferail has been providing a completely safe and reliable working environment for work on and around the railroad. Railroad safety is our number one priority, closely followed by occupational health and safety. This also leads to unique safety concepts and material innovations that are even used by fellow companies.

Going home safe and sound, that is Saferail's primary goal as a workplace safety company. "On the one hand we help our two shareholders (Dura Vermeer and Movares) to create a safe workplace, but we also support other parties who have to carry out work on or around a railroad from A to Z, should the knowledge of railroad safety not be (sufficiently) present. Think, for example, of a civil contractor who is going to build a tunnel under a track," explains Ronald de Ridder of Saferail.  Speaking of safety, Safeconsult - a department within Saferail - provides advice and support on safety-,  health risks and environment and supports companies during certification for The Safety Ladder, a certifiable standard to increase the development of safety awareness and the level of safe conduct in companies.

According to De Ridder, Saferail has all the resources needed to safely perform work on or around the track. In fact, a separate division has been created for it. "Safetech is a division within Saferail that is responsible for the management, maintenance and availability of workplace security equipment. There is no other workplace security company with such a wide range of products. This ranges from warning devices for oncoming train traffic, applied among other things at temporary work crossings, self-signaling short-circuit lances to safety gates for physical shielding. The latter - the Safetech Fence - is definitely our flagship product and is even used by many of our fellow companies. Developed jointly with Rail Safety Constructions, the patented Safetech Fence consists of a recessed steel bracket that can be attached to the rail in no time at all. This eliminates the need to remove ballast under the track. The upright is then slid over the rail clamp to which the yellow sleepers are attached."

According to De Ridder, the Safetech Fence is up to three times faster to install than conventional certified fencing. "It complies with RailAlert's standardization based on the European Standard FprEN 16704-2-2:2015 and as such is also increasingly popular in Belgium and Germany. Another development that is also a favorite among fellow companies is our Safetech Signal 513, a more compact, lighter and much faster to install alternative to the conventional Signal 513. Our years of knowledge and experience make us absolutely distinctive in the market. And this is also reflected in our own products."      ν
