Bosch Concrete, manufacturer of concrete retaining walls, is focusing on sustainability and circularity in their production. With the goal of achieving 100% circular production of their retaining walls. The company knows how to lower MKI (Environmental Cost Indicator) values through optimizations in products and mixture.
Bosch Beton is the first retaining wall manufacturer in the world to obtain a CSC Gold certificate, indicating that the concrete products are produced in a sustainable and responsible manner. A nice big next step is the awarding of the MKI value to Bosch Concrete's retaining walls. This standard does not yet exist for retaining walls. Meanwhile, all MKI tests for this have been completed and we are waiting for this value to be awarded.
Since taking over the company last year, Bosch Beton has consciously chosen to produce high-quality and durable products for now and the future. The lifespan of the finished product must be at least 50 to 100 years. Moreover, it must also be fully recyclable afterwards. This means that Bosch Concrete must continue to work with pure raw materials in order to produce good recyclable materials.
It goes a step further when the application of the product also creates an additional sustainable effect. Such application requires effective cooperation. Bosch Beton launched the bio-circular wall last summer, which came about in cooperation with MVO Nederland, a gardener and a consultancy and engineering firm. A circular wall developed specifically to promote biodiversity. The first ecological results are positive!
Bosch Concrete's customer promise is "Building a solid future. The manufacturer has the ambition to reduce its environmental impact and strives to minimize the footprint of itself and its customers. To this end, the company continues to innovate and make it more sustainable. In the future, it wants to be able to produce their retaining walls 100% circularly. For example, Bosch Beton has recently switched to biological filling material and is investigating how spent cement can be reused in the future. Logistics also have their attention and Bosch Beton is looking at using data and technical solutions to minimize mileage.
