VACANCY: Specialist in Road Management and Public Lighting.

Eerbeek │ 32 - 36 hours per week │ HBO │ max. € 5,247.

What will you do?

As a Road Management Specialist, you will be responsible for managing municipal pavements and public lighting. In your role, you will ensure that pavements and public lighting remain in good condition. You will advise on new construction or renovation plans in the field of paving and lighting. Sustainability, environment, participation and integral working are important elements in your work. You contribute to climate solutions and sustainability. For this you have technical knowledge in the field of roads and lighting. You ensure that all work is coordinated, draw up maintenance plans and contracts, place orders on the market and are responsible for the budget. You are able to independently translate objectives into concrete management measures and maintenance plans.

At the core, these are your main tasks:

  • You will implement the road management plan and the public lighting management plan;
  • You will arrange and coordinate inspections and work on pavements and public lighting;
  • You will create and update implementation plans;
  • You subcontract work and direct the execution of specifications;
  • You will be responsible for keeping the management system up to date;
  • You will work together with the sewer and green space specialists and the Traffic and Water consultants on integral management of public space;
  • You will handle problems, complaints and questions about roads and public lighting and be the first point of contact in this regard;
  • You participate in internal and external projects from your disciplines;
  • You will contribute to area work and handle questions and livability initiatives;
  • You are budget responsible and accountable.

Who are we?

Team Beheer Openbare Ruimte-Binnen consists of 15 employees, including an Advisor Traffic, Specialists Sewerage and Green, Supervisors Civil and Green and work planners Civil and Green. The team falls under the Physical Environment Department.

You will work in a team that is diverse in age, background and area of knowledge and always warmly involved with each other. The work within a small municipality like Brummen is varied and the lines of communication are short. In Brummen you have many opportunities to organize your own work. This can be done partly from home but of course we would also like to see you live. You coordinate that with your manager/coordinator and of course your colleagues.

A varied and independent position that includes:

  • A salary of up to € 5247 for a 36-hour work week (scale 10 CAO Municipalities, based on HR21 position Employee Design & Preparation III);
  • An Individual Choice Budget of 17.85%, which allows you to use your benefits package flexibly;

  • A varied, independent position with your own responsibilities in an informal and collegial working atmosphere;          
  • A travel allowance of € 0.19 per kilometer if you live between 10 and 40 kilometers from your workplace. And if it is necessary for you to make a business trip with your own car, we will reimburse you € 0.37 per kilometer.

Who are we looking for?

You like dynamism and working in a political and social context suits you. In addition, you possess:

  • HBO level of thinking and work, for example, based on a college degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Minimum of three years relevant experience in road management;
  • Preferably experience in public lighting management;
  • Knowledge of and experience with RAW systematics.
