He has taken over from Tiny Nuiten as of this year. "My first goal is to help our customers in the Benelux in their transition to digitalization," says Van den Brandt.
Infrakit is originally a Finnish company. In 2015, Van den Brandt started as a part-timer for Infrakit Finland, before establishing the Benelux office in the Netherlands in late 2016. "In 2019, I was asked to bring Infrakit to Germany and the United Kingdom. That was when Tiny Nuiten took over the torch from me. So now I am again responsible for the Benelux, but still have the DACH countries and the United Kingdom with it."
Infrakit software connects project participants and machines in a common information management system. Thanks to open formats and Cloud technology, improved information flow enables collaboration for all civil construction project stakeholders. Van den Brandt explains, "Infrakit has an intuitive visual approach to access all information on map or automated reports. This ensures that the entire team works toward common goals and has up-to-date information easily in their hands - even when they are mobile."
In the bidding phase, Infrakit allows the use of drawings and models along with the relevant site on the Infrakit FIELD mobile app. Ground observations can be enhanced with imagery through built-in camera app. "With Infrakit FIELD, the user gets access to pdf reports. These can be filled in on the spot for generating safety reports, doing risk assessment, or anything you want to digitize. The ultimate in 'situational awareness' is achieved by visualizing orthophotos and point clouds," Van den Brandt said.
"In the design phase, Infrakit helps in the collaboration of multidisciplinary design models. With 3D visualizations, BIM data and GIS data are seamlessly combined in the web browser. Because everyone always has the same and correct information, work can be done much more efficiently and much less email traffic is needed," outlines Van den Brandt. "Transparency between client and contractor is the way of the future."
Infrakit's full strength is reflected in the construction phase. Infrakit connects teams with mobile equipment, surveying equipment and machine controls of almost all brands. Van den Brandt continues: "Infrakit updates planned models for the field team and integrates as-built data for real-time progress and quality monitoring. Machine utilization data and truck transport control, along with volume and schedule tracking, increase site efficiency to unprecedented levels."
Clients benefit from Infrakit because projects are completed on time and on budget. Quality is improved thanks to automated progress monitoring that allows full digital transparency - even down to the machine. "An improved workflow, where construction work is carried out using 3D designs, avoids rework and waiting. Moreover, this also leads to reduced CO2 emissions on the project. So a win-win situation."
Infrakit Cloud makes it easy to monitor and manage the entire construction site. With Infrakit, project progress information from the field is available in real-time. "This innovative approach results in faster project completion while improving quality with fewer errors - all resulting in huge cost savings," Van den Brandt said in conclusion.
