TelliQ comes up with solution for mixed fleet monitoring and analysis

Swedish company TelliQ launches 'Mixed Fleet', a solution for companies that have a mixed fleet of vehicles and/or machines. 'Mixed Fleet' is a complete solution with integrated hardware and software that allows a mixed fleet to be monitored and managed efficiently and proactively in a single platform. The data can be collected using the TelliQ hardware, which is mounted in the vehicles. It can withstand harsh conditions and collects and transmits vehicle and machine data for online analysis. The data can also be extracted from the systems and databases of the respective vehicle or machine manufacturers via an interface.

"We talked to fleet owners and listened carefully to the problems, which they face in fleet management," said Lukas Ivarsson, Business Area Manager for Mobile Equipment at TelliQ. "They often have to use multiple solutions to adequately solve the problems. Challenges proved to be mainly the geographical distribution of the vehicles and the different conditions at the work sites. The variety of locations was one of the first challenges we wanted to solve with our hardware. Our new Mobile Communication Gateway, MCG, collects the data from machines and vehicles wherever they are."

TelliQ's hardware can withstand the extreme environmental conditions faced by vehicles on sites, such as varying temperatures, violent vibrations and chemicals. A built-in radio transmitter and 4G mobile connection allow companies to monitor their machines from a single location; even if the machines are scattered across the country. The MCG is certified in 80 countries and has CE, FCC and E approval.

Distance and dispersion are not the only problems fleet owners face. Fleets are often assembled in a very diverse manner, to accommodate different requirements and operations. This has resulted in fleets consisting of different types of vehicles of different brands. Monitoring the performance and status of such a mixed fleet creates considerable challenges. Different types of hardware and multiple platforms are usually required to track and analyze all vehicles and machines.

"By using Linux OS, we can easily configure the MCG for the different machines and vehicles, which companies have in their fleets. The device collects the data on a single online platform, so data from different machines can be compared in one place. Customers can design the platform in their own corporate style and share the data with their own customers. As a result, the platform also becomes a portal for presenting machines and their use," Lukas clarified.

The TelliQ system provides an overview of all data on vehicles, machinery and equipment. It provides capabilities for driver ID, position tracking and automatic trip recording. In addition, the fleet owner gains insight into vehicle usage, driving style and fuel consumption, among other things. Fault codes can also be transmitted directly from the vehicle. For fleet management, matters such as lease contract, inspections, service and maintenance status, among others, are visible.

TelliQ's Mixed Fleet solution solves fleet owners' problems using hardware that is uniquely compatible with different brands and types of machines. The extensive certification allows the system to be deployed worldwide without problems. TelliQ has also equipped the systems with the latest mobile network technologies for machine monitoring such as 4G NB-IoT and CAT M1, which give even more range and consume even less power.

"We didn't want to bring another solution to the market that only solves part of the problems. We wanted to offer a single, integrated solution for fleet owners," said Joakim Lindquist, CEO of TelliQ.
