Successful acquisition of Hoogveld by Geonius Group

The boards of directors of geotechnical survey company Hoogveld of Almelo and engineering firm Geonius have reached agreement on the transfer of 100% of the shares in Hoogveld Holding to the Geonius Group. This means that as of Wednesday, July 1, all activities of the companies Hoogveld Geo, Hoogveld Rail and Hoogveld Advies will be carried out under the responsibility of Geonius. Hoogveld will from now on continue under the new name Hoogveld Geonius B.V.

Leading player

With this joining of forces of Geonius and Hoogveld, the combined company immediately becomes one of the leading players in the Netherlands in the field of geotechnical field investigation and consultancy. Geonius Geotechniek's fieldwork capacity is more than doubled by the addition of Hoogveld's equipment and staff. In addition, special track probing units and several pontoons provide additional opportunities for research along the track and in the water. Earlier this year, Geonius and Hoogveld, as cooperation partners, became framework contractors of ProRail. The decisive factor for this success was particularly Hoogveld's specialist expertise, which from now on can be found within Geonius.

Nationwide coverage

In addition, the acquisition offers several other synergy benefits. Geonius aims for national coverage of its activities. By moving into the Hoogveld branch in Almelo, Geonius now also has an office in the east of the country. From this branch the geodesy, infra and environmental departments will also start working in the near future. This means a considerable expansion of the current service package of Hoogveld Geonius in the Eastern Netherlands region.

Company culture and continuity first and foremost

Former owner Ferry Hoogveld believes it is important that the company culture is maintained and that his employees have future prospects and can continue to develop. When it comes to the social corporate culture and no-nonsense mentality, there are many similarities between Hoogveld and Geonius. It clicked immediately between the managements of both companies. Within Geonius there are plenty of opportunities to grow and this creates new opportunities for everyone. Ferry will remain active within the organization as advisor to the management in the coming years. He can now fully focus on technology and innovations, the area where his heart lies. Matthijs Eisses, former co-owner, will remain in service as business manager of Hoogveld Geonius and will remain the regional point of contact from Almelo.
