ABB and the Staka Group today reached agreement on the sale of a substantial part of the manufacturing operations of Odink & Koenderink B.V. in Haaksbergen. The sale is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020.
Odink & Koenderink, based in Haaksbergen, is originally a family business and founded in 1920. Odink & Koenderink produces switch boxes and electronic components for the electrical infrastructure. As of June 2018, Odink & Koenderink was part of ABB, a Swedish-Swiss multinational company headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland.
The activities being acquired will be placed in a new legal form and continued under the name Odink & Koenderink Nederland B.V. The company will operate independently. At least 28 employees will transfer with it.
Eric Masclee, owner of Staka, expects that Odink & Koenderink Netherlands B.V. will be fully operational in March 2020. It is expected that through this transaction both Staka and Odink & Koenderink will be able to serve their clients even better.
Staka is a manufacturer of switch boxes and roof hatches, based in Oosterhout. Staka was founded in 1956 and started importing aerials and accessories. In the 1970s, Staka started producing stainless steel mounting boxes. In 2006, Staka was acquired by Eric Masclee.
Staka was advised in this transaction by Freek Haerkens (Treble Legal).
