'Small in size, big in the works we do'

"We specialize in making steel structures, metalworking and performing on-site welding and assembly work," says owner Bertran Rijnberg.

Big on certifications

"We may be small in size, but big in the works we do." In particular, expertise and specific welding certifications mean that the company is involved in renowned infrastructure projects. "We are authorized to realize constructions in accordance with NEN-EN 1090-2 execution class 2 and 3. And we are now working on certification for execution class 4, the highest level in NEN-EN 1090-2." Every welder within Rijnberg meets the required welding certification but has also completed the Visual Welding Inspector training. "With this, everyone on our team possesses the right knowledge to know which standards a weld must meet and we guarantee quality," adds Rijnberg. This year Rijnberg successfully audited for VCA**, which is a nice stepping stone to the Step3 certification on the Safety Ladder. All these factors contribute to the fact that the relatively small company can seriously compete with the "big names" within the industry.

From the outside in

"When we started our company, the focus was first on outdoors," says Rijnberg. "We invested in equipment and equipment. Meanwhile, we started getting all the certifications to meet the right standards. Last year we expanded our workshop so that we can offer our customers a complete package." In the workshop, Rijnberg makes prefabricated structures and frames, as well as lifting eyes, bollards or whatever the customer needs. "Right now we are certifying ourselves in the area of welding rebar to steel sheet piles and tubular piles. We can weld those inside our workshop and apply them outside. Especially in hydraulic engineering, we see an increasing demand."

Continuous improvement and quality assurance

Rijnberg also notices an increasing demand for prefab, BIM, KOMO certification and the ISO 17660-1 standard. "I always say, 'we never stop learning' and am therefore really proud of the driven and enthusiastic team that continues to develop and improve. They are true professionals with passion for the profession. The small scale of our company makes it pleasant to work with. Short lines of communication, both internally and externally, that makes us flexible." Rijnberg concludes, "Thinking along with the customer is our strength: we are there when needed and go for quality. Very normal if you ask me."
