What's new? A new version, same convenience

Since our last newsletter in version 2.4.6, we have released many features, all designed to give you the best possible research experience. Let's take a look at the new features!

Sidelines

With this new feature that works on both polylines and polygons, you are able to create a new line or polygon from an existing point on a line. Great for sub-cables or pipes running from the main line to the house, or for measuring in different pieces of land.

Line & polygon plotting

Instead of being able to select only a point or a point in a shape to expand, you can expand a shape as a whole. Just select the polyline or polygon completely, press expand, and it will guide you to the closest position on that shape.

Extend the shape on each side
The already existing function for expanding shapes, now allows you to expand from any part of the shape, including beginning and end. So whether you forget a point in the beginning, in the middle or at the end, it no longer matters!

Resources for greater accuracy
Static registration allows you to create your point based on the average of multiple positions within a second. So within the project settings, you can set the time and therefore the number of positions for surveys, which can ensure that you work even more accurately. If you just want to keep surveying as you already do, don't worry! The current project settings remain the same and you simply choose 1 second in future project settings.

New local coordinate systems
We are growing rapidly internationally, so we recently added coordinate systems with the latest geoids for Curaçao, Germany, Mexico, Oman, Romania, Slovenia and the United Kingdom. By continuously working to add new systems, digital surveying is becoming even easier worldwide. So expect more local coordinate systems in the future, next in line is Sweden! Many new features and more to come.

Free of charge, of course, just as you've come to expect from us!

Crash Course Surveying Day

One of the key announcements from our intro, of course, is that safety is most important.

Therefore, we had a limited number of places for the recently held Crash Course Surveying Day in October, even more than the one in September. With a maximum of 3 people per round and by letting anyone who had one or more complaints stay home, we made sure that the Dutch guidelines were met.

It was a different Surveying Day, even for this time. Different, yet clarifying for attendees. We were fortunate to let visitors experience how easy digital surveying is with our UNI-GR1, and they were fortunate to get more personal attention from our digital surveying experts.

Due to the new measures from the Dutch government, we have decided to cancel the November edition. Although we have already made our Crash Course as COVID-proof as possible, we feel that we need to go one step further to reduce infections.

However, we are still available for demonstrations at outdoor locations. We would be happy to discuss those options and the safety of a demo with you. Please feel free to take contact FOR ON!

The digital surveying needs of a landscaper

Being precise is an important part of a gardener's job. His or her job is much more than making sure all the plants and shrubs are watered. From laying artificial grass to creating flower boxes, a porch or the most intricate and challenging garden designs. By working accurately, they make customers even more satisfied. We are pleased that our UNI-GR1 is playing an increasingly important role with garden professionals who want to work accurately. 

We spoke with Mathijs Wolfs of Hoveniersbedrijf to hear about the experiences after 3 months of working with the UNI. We also contacted Thomas van Antwerpen of Hoveniersbedrijf Van Antwerpen to see what he was looking forward to, in anticipation of the delivery of his first UNI.

Small improvements, big results

In addition to the features mentioned above from Version 2.4.6, we have made some great improvements to make digital measurement even easier.

Sorting projects
A good example of an improvement requested by customers. From now on, your most recent project will appear at the top of the project list, making it easier to continue measuring after a break.

Screen selection and user interface
Selecting an object on the map has become much easier thanks to some bug fixes. Apart from that, it is even easier to work on smaller screens due to the improved user interface.

Full-screen map display
A much requested feature was the ability to enable full-screen map display, something we've been working hard on and launched very recently. This means you can choose to have a full-screen map or, if you want, or a displayed sidebar. The choice is yours!

Bluetooth
By adding an enhanced Bluetooth discovery mode for better Bluetooth pairing, you'll be ready to get started with 3D party applications even faster!

Test and measure in the best
And last, but certainly not least, the diagnostic testing service.

This allows us to check the health of your receiver and this also allows you to manually check that this receiver is ready to use and performing well in doing so, including the latest update version, status of hardware and gps, as well as proper temperatures.
