Second generation takes the helm at Bosch Beton

After 50 years, brother and sister Gerard van den Bosch & Brechtje van den Beuken - van den Bosch have formally taken over the company "Bosch Beton" from their father Gert van den Bosch as of November 1, 2019. Bosch Beton is since 1968 manufacturer and supplier of prefabricated retaining walls for Northwest Europe and the acquisition by son and daughter fits in the strategy of Bosch Beton; to guarantee continuity.

Gert van den Bosch, former director of Bosch Beton: "The continuity of the company has always been paramount. With Gerard and Brechtje taking over the company, I leave it in good hands. Both have a lot of experience and know like no other as young entrepreneurs what is important in the current market (sustainability, management, marketing, etc.). With the arrival of the new generation, the focus will be on making the production process more sustainable in order to guarantee our position in the market."

The new director-owners started within Bosch Beton at a young age and after also gaining experience at other employers, the blood ran where it couldn't go. Both returned to the Bosch Beton "nest" and for years, alongside their father, have been responsible for the daily, operational management.

Bosch Beton is the market leader in the Netherlands in the sale, delivery and installation of prefabricated retaining walls. In addition, in recent years it has been successfully active abroad. Customers come from the agricultural sector and civil engineering in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, United Kingdom, Belgium and France. Last June, the company moved to new premises in Barneveld, where production is sustainable and energy-neutral.

Opening new factory

1 November Bosch Beton opened its doors to relations who were directly involved in the construction and realization of the new plant. November 2 was dedicated to the family & friends of all employees. In total, the event was visited by over 1,800 guests. The official opening of the new factory on Friday, November 1 by Mayor Asje van Dijk is, both literally and figuratively, the beginning of a new era for the concrete producer in Barneveld.

Refurbishment of old factory site

Gert van den Bosch, together with his son Brand Jan van den Bosch, will further explore new and sustainable activities related to energy, concrete and area development from Bosch Beheer BV. Thus it is intended that the old factory site will be completely redesigned into a modern and green energy park. In addition, new concrete activities are being developed which are aimed at reusing materials and reducing CO2. The interfaces with Bosch Beton will be used to strengthen each other.
