NEW: Staad X Fusion introduces: 'ENERGY AS A SERVICE'

Brand new DX165W-7 Electric excavator available from €340,000 with on-site green power through Energy as a Service.

Staad, from Veghel in Brabant, the Netherlands & Scandinavia market leader in converting conventional earthmoving machines to electric, is introducing a new service with its own brand Fusion: Energy as a Service. With this, a brand new electric - and thus sustainable emission-free earthmoving machine - can now be purchased without a Powerbox 400 battery pack, this saves significantly in purchase price. The energy required for the excavator is supplied entirely green, flexible and at the desired location at an all-in rate starting at 0.78 cents per kWh*. Unique in the Netherlands for machines with an exchangeable battery.

Staad X Fusion

Staad has nearly 100 years of experience in earthmoving machinery and delivered the first electric and 100% emission-free tracked excavator in 2020, a world first. Over 250 sustainable electric machines are running in the work field, both at home and abroad. The need for power and related charging products for these electric machines led to the establishment of Fusion, a division of Staad, in late 2022.

Fusion focuses on charging solutions and accessories for electrical machines in the Civil Engineering sector. All of Staad's knowledge, skills and experience are incorporated by Fusion resulting in robust, high-quality products with the best service. Besides the GWW sector, Fusion is also active in other sectors, such as festivals, regional transport and on construction sites or other temporary locations with a need for power, both AC and DC. Fusion also offers solutions for other electric drive systems and is happy to discuss them.

Energy as a Service

With Energy as a Service (EaaS), a new service from Fusion, a customer is guaranteed a full Powerbox on Staad's powerful emission-free excavator, which can now be purchased without a Powerbox. The customer pays a fixed weekly fee, for which a charged Powerbox is exchanged at each prearranged location, so that the machine can continue to work carefree.

Battery change timing can be coordinated directly with the operator or planner, and Fusion provides power assurance by changing the battery on site in a timely manner. No charging stress, the mobile excavator runs more than a full working day with a full battery.

Optimal sustainable working

After a successful pilot, Fusion is ready to roll out this concept further within the Netherlands, hoping to accelerate the transition to all-electric, especially now, after subsidies for electric equipment have already been reduced this year and for now it remains to be seen what this will do in the coming year. With EaaS, Fusion offers a new opportunity to get in and get to work emission-free. The Powerbox batteries are charged with solar and wind energy and transported electrically. Fusion thus offers a sustainable solution, completely green and deployable at any location.

Energy as a Service in conjunction with Staad's new DX165W-7 Electric excavator:
If consumption exceeds 1,000 kWh per week, the costs are €1,500 per week.
(The price per kWh based on 1,925 kWh is thus €0.78)

Prices are based on a basic version of the DX165W-7 Electric, in addition Staad offers a standard option package with the most commonly used machine options: the Staad Just Right Package.

Named prices are exclusive of VAT and valid only for the Staad DX165W-7 Electric excavator. Prices are indexed where the maximum indexation is according to the CROW.
