A new and unique rental concept was recently introduced in the field of mobile tank installations. This consists of a temporary above-ground fuel storage facility that fully complies with current legal regulations.
Renting temporary facilities on construction and infrastructure projects is becoming more common. However, renting temporary fuel facilities has some issues. For example, IBCs (Intermediate Bulk Containers for storage and safe transport of (in)hazardous liquid products) must be inspected every 2.5 years. Pumps and filter sets must be serviced regularly. And moving, delivering and collecting the IBCs are not part of the core business of an infrastructure company or oil and fuel supplier.
IBCs can be rented with measuring system and track & trace system.
Hammer, total provider for utilities, industry, workshop equipment, fuel supply and the chemical industry has come up with a solution for this. The new IBC and Tank Rental department can provide companies with temporary above-ground storage for fuels. "Our IBC and Tank Rental program consists of a wide range of above-ground tanks and IBCs that all comply with current regulations," says Jan Bunskoeke, sales director Hamer Direct & Reel Technology. The more than 80-year-old family business from Apeldoorn specializes in supplying, transporting, maintaining and inspecting fuel systems. "It is therefore not surprising that we want to play an important role in the rental market. Our fleet is being expanded monthly and we hope to be the market leader in IBC and tank rental within 3 to 5 years," Bunskoeke continues.
In addition to logistics, inspection and maintenance, locating and efficiently keeping mobile tank installations filled also proves to be a challenge in practice. Hamer has also found an innovative solution for this. Bunskoeke: "All our IBCs are equipped with a remotely readable content measurement system and a track & trace function. This means that for a few euros a day our customers know the exact contents of their IBC and know where their container is at 50 meters." So never again an IBC that is "lost. Also, a fuel supplier now no longer has to make unnecessary trips to a container that turns out to be still half full. Or urgently deliver to an IBC that is suddenly empty. Every morning the customer receives a digital overview of the contents of the rented/or leased IBCs and the corresponding GPS coordinates.
The range includes IBCs of 950, 2,000 and 3,000 liters volume.
An IBC can be rented for the shorter or longer term and complete with built-in pump set (12/24V or 230V). It can also be rented without pump set, as a fuel supply for a generator or well pump. Each pump set is equipped with a filter system and digital discharge meter with totalizer and zero. Furthermore, the rental IBCs are standard equipped with a 30 cm large pump chamber that offers space for long hoses or, for example, a tank and delivery set for AdBlue. The IBCs can be rented in 3 sizes, namely 950, 2,000 and 3,000 liters. They are stackable empty to 5 high and full to 3 high. The 7 mm thick galvanized corner pieces and manhole cover ensure that the containers can take a beating.
Practice shows that outsourcing mobile fuel supply(s) is more effective and efficient than doing it yourself. With this new rental concept Hamer offers care at the highest level. "Because unburdening clients from A to Z with our 17 areas of expertise is what we want," Bunskoeke concludes.
