Royal Eijkelkamp is expanding its already impressive portfolio with a range of geotechnical measuring instruments, including piezometers, inclinometers, tiltmeters and extensometers. This makes Royal Eijkelkamp a one stop shop for engineering solutions in combination with the already existing range of sonic drilling equipment, sounding solutions (CPT) and water monitoring systems, among others.
"With the integration of Eijkelkamp GeoPoint SoilSolutions, we had been working with geotechnical products for several years, but recently we have our own official product line," said Gustavo Hamu, Product Manager at Royal Eijkelkamp. "Eijkelkamp GeoPoint SoilSolutions has extensive experience in the development of geotechnical measurement equipment. Royal Eijkelkamp's strong distributor network has only increased the demand, which has led to the need to build a more robust product line. That is precisely where the strength of Royal Eijkelkamp lies. We have a strong global network. That made us jointly decide to carry the geotechnical measuring instruments under the Royal Eijkelkamp brand name from now on."
To maintain its leading position, Royal Eijkelkamp did not go overnight. "We tested the geotechnical measuring instruments extensively at InnoFields, our own 'test field' in Giesbeek, near Arnhem," Hamu continues. "Not just to assess the quality, because we knew from experience that that was fine, but mainly to verify the communication of the data loggers with our own web portal, as well as other customer servers, and to fine tune it where necessary. Even before the market launch at the beginning of October this year, we asked a number of regular customers, distributors and partners for feedback. They were unanimously enthusiastic about the plans to launch this product line. Another confirmation for us that there is a lot of market in this. Important USPs of the products include reliability, robustness and incredibly high accuracy. We use state-of-the-art technology. The measuring instruments must also prove their added value under extreme conditions. After all, Sonic and CPT machines are also delivered to the most remote corners, where extreme working conditions can occur. All geotechnical instruments are delivered at an affordable price. We are not the cheapest, the technology is simply too good for that, but we are certainly not the most expensive either. Important to gain market share in a market with a lot of competition."
According to Hamu, the equipment is very user-friendly and the data outputs are also easy to understand and process. "Moreover, an important added value of Royal Eijkelkamp is our advisory role. We ask the right questions to provide the customer with a customized solution, so that he can get to work in the field right away."
