The construction of Zwaagstra Beton's new factory in Hoogeveen is virtually complete. The factory, in which, among other things, angle bar plates and beamed plates will be produced, is equipped with the most modern production machines and is characterized by an innovative logistical layout. With the commissioning of the new plant, Zwaagstra Beton is again significantly expanding its production capacity.
Only a year and a half after the commissioning of an impressive production hall for retaining and silo walls, the next plant is already ready for operation. In this new hall, angle bar plates and lined plates in particular will be produced. "But it is also possible to produce other products from our range, so that we can respond even better to market demand. So the factory is both an expansion of assortment and capacity," says Richard Zwaagstra, director of Zwaagstra Beton. Production has now started and the first slabs have already rolled out of the molds. "With a new production site you often have to deal with teething problems that still need to be worked out. But because we have gained a lot of experience in recent years with the construction of new concrete plants, we expect that this initial phase will not cause many problems."
Enthusiasm about the creation of the new plant is high among staff and management. "It is great to see and experience together how such a new construction project develops. With this new concrete slab plant, we are able to serve the market even better and faster. The angle bar plates and buckled plates produced at the new plant are of the highest quality. They all carry the KOMO certificate and thus meet the highest requirements," explains Richard Zwaagstra. "Zwaagstra Beton values both quality and fast delivery. The expectations are rightly high. We are convinced that this capacity expansion will further optimize our market position. The first reactions from the market, both in the agri- and infra- and sports sector confirm this expectation," Zwaagstra concludes excitedly.
