For the dyke reinforcement Tiel - Waardenburg, construction combination Mekante Diek is using sustainable solutions as much as possible. For transport on and around the construction site, Riel Elektrische Voertuigen and De Kock Machines were called in. It resulted in the delivery of three 100% electric 4WD transport vehicles with RDW registration plates and fully customized configuration.
Riel Electric Vehicles is Frisian Motors' point of contact in the Netherlands for the GWW sector, among others. "We are like an extension of the factory," says Sander Riel. The 100% electric transport vehicles are assembled in the Netherlands. "That makes it very easy for us to make customer-specific modifications to the vehicle. For example, we even recently had an ambulance built and delivered for a customer on the RedIIGreen project in Rotterdam." Mekante Diek ordered three examples of the FM100, delivered through De Kock Machines of Lienden. "We also supply the vehicles directly and are happy to think along in optimizations."
Frisian Motors produces the FM model in six versions. "Five of them lend themselves perfectly to deployment in the GWW," Sander knows. "The vehicles are lightweight, available in 2- or 4-seat versions and with 2WD or 4WD. Mekante Diek opted for the 4-seater with 4WD, equipped with a closed cabin and a tow bar, among other features. The three lithium battery options give the vehicle a range of 60 to 100 kilometers. Charging can be done simply via 230 volts. Completely empty, charging takes about six hours." According to Sander, electric transport vehicles are currently a hot item in the GWW. "There is a lot of demand for them, especially because of the far-reaching configuration possibilities ánd the official RDW license plate. So you can take them on public roads. Many large infrastructure contractors in the Netherlands have already included one or more in their fleet or have them on order."
