A good move, since part of the Weert-based company's customer base also consists of Belgian clients. Jeroen Hornman, sales manager and member of the management team at Saes, sheds light on the matter.
"For Saes it is a logical step. This way we are closer to our valued Belgian clients. We are currently working on the premises in Tienen, where we have a hall and an office at our disposal. Everything is neatly arranged for rental and sales, and we are creating the possibility of being able to do service work there in the future."
When asked whether it is the intention that all Belgian customers will have to do business with the Tienen branch from March 1 (the opening date), Jeroen replied, "That is up to them. Anyone who wants to communicate with Weert as usual can continue to do so. However, practice will soon show that having a branch close by is quite convenient."
The management team at Saes has also not let the grass grow under its feet in terms of personnel, with a brand new sales manager for Belgium already in the starting blocks. "Our new sales manager for Belgium is called Jens Boerboom, he officially started on February 1, but has already completed a full training and induction program. Jens has Belgian nationality and also lives in Belgium. He will represent the interests of the Belgian clients and will be based in Tienen." To put Saes Belgium even more on the map, it will also participate in the Matexpo in Kortrijk, held from September 8 to 12, 2021.
Anyone who has ever been to Saes in Weert knows that due to the growth the company has experienced, storage capacity is at its ceiling. But also the maintenance of earthmoving machines, which has taken off since the arrival of Erwin Broens in 2019, takes up the necessary space. This is being addressed by building a new shed -with showroom- on the premises, next to the existing building. Jeroen: "The new shed to be built will have an area of no less than 1,200 m2 and will be 11 meters high. Currently we are in the design and planning phase, we expect to be able to put this shed into use at the end of June, beginning of July."
This expansion allows Saes to create more space for service work on attachments and earthmoving machines, store more attachments and add a showroom. "Saes has a strong focus on the big attachments, but at the same time on the medium and small versions. We have created a furor with the very largest attachments, but the demand for medium and small attachments has also increased tremendously. So there is more volume there in terms of numbers. If you look at what has to be stored and serviced 'in the mix,' you can understand that the new shed is not an unnecessary luxury."
So in Weert, we are constantly working on the road, both logistically with the imminent expansion in Weert and the opening of the Belgian branch, but of course also when it comes to the offer to the customer and the extensive service with which the products are surrounded. "Overall, we can say that our main focus is on performing optimally, in the service of our customers. With the strong brands that have joined Saes as partners, with our service and the advice we provide, the customer knows that he too can perform optimally at work. Saes is always close by, now even more than ever."
