BUKO Bereikbaar, part of BUKO Infrasupport, is increasingly focusing on using digital means in addition to the well-known physical traffic measures. "We were already doing that in many areas," says Martin van Beurden, manager of BUKO Bereikbaar, "but with the close cooperation we have entered into with Real-Time Road Inspection, we are really breaking new ground."
Real-Time Road Inspection (RTRI) is the online platform that provides anyone working on or on the road network with up-to-date imagery. Its purpose: to monitor the safety situation remotely. "The platform complements BUKO Bereikbaar's services," Martin says. This joining of forces will greatly increase the number of up-to-date images on the RTRI platform and accelerate the growth ambitions of both parties.
"Because we can use current images and combine them with traffic data, we can continuously check whether the project has been put out the right way, whether work can be done safely and whether traffic flow is taking place. This gives us an even better grip on our projects and allows us to give our clients a better picture of the execution of their projects and the associated on-site challenges."
It is also important for the road users themselves, Martin explains: "Because we can see when delays or shortcuts occur, for example, we can respond immediately by optimizing and maximizing the provision of information to road users. For example, we encourage driving with navigation, because road works are correctly incorporated into this." To provide road users with the right information both digitally and physically, BUKO Bereikbaar recently started using BUKO Streetsync. "These are temporary LED screens along the road, on which we can display data-dependent information to road users. At a specific time, specific information and therefore very current," says Martin.
BUKO Infrasupport is exhibiting together with BUKO Waakt at the Infra Relatiedagen in Harderberg. "On February 6-7-8 we would like to welcome you at booth 138. Over a cup of coffee, we will be happy to tell you about these and other modern traffic measures, which together ensure safety for road workers and road users."
