Creative solutions to complex and integral issues

Joosten Group is on an acquisition path. "We employ a buy and build strategy and are constantly looking for opportunities to bring in more expertise and make our program more complete," says owner Raymond Brouwer. Last summer, another such opportunity presented itself. Since September 1, Van Kaam, a specialist in underground infrastructure, has been part of the Joosten Group.

Van Kaam and Joosten Group have been trusted partners for many years. "We have been working together extremely pleasantly for 25 years," says Raymond. "In the early years still with founder Mario van Kaam and in recent years mainly with son Bastiaan, who was keen on a takeover by Joosten Groep. And so it happened. Since September 1, Van Kaam has been added as a proud addition to our group." Joosten Groep consists of a group of specialists you can turn to for everything to do with infrastructure, water management and greenery in the city. With the acquisition of Riotech earlier this year, the tally stood at seven Joosten companies, with Joosten Van Kaam we now reach eight.

Same faces

According to Raymond, Van Kaam fits in very well with the Joosten Group. "The company specializes, among other things, in producing wells and specials in HDPE and is thus a wonderfully nice addition to the position we already have in the market for plastic piping systems." Although the name has since been changed to Joosten Van Kaam, Raymond assures that is where it will stay. "Van Kaam and Joosten Groep are two strong names in the market. The fact that we are now united can lead to many more great things. Bastiaan, by the way, remains director and, together with his enthusiastic colleagues, the point of contact at Joosten Van Kaam. They are only getting eighty new colleagues. Together we are even better positioned for future developments."

Changing the infrastructure

With Joosten Van Kaam and its other components, Joosten Group is making significant strides in the area of sustainability. "We are a club that works and thinks ahead," Raymond continues. "We see that today's infrastructure and living environment are built with knowledge, experience and expertise from the past. That has brought us a lot. But in the future other, new tasks will also arise and we need to anticipate them. A different approach to infrastructure and living environments is needed. In addition, more innovations are needed to address issues such as circularity, greening and reduction of CO2 and nitrogen to be accelerated. This requires a different way of working with each other: not as client-supplier for each other, but as partners with each other. We are working hard on this internally as a group, but we are also seeking external cooperation with professionals, students, companies and institutes that also believe we must and can change the infra culture."
