Creating a void between two structures you can't physically reach?

With Egcovoid® from Max Frank, you can!

Sometimes a hollow space is necessary between two structures, for example between concrete slabs. When separate formwork is not possible, you will have to work in a different way. By using Egcovoid® plates from Max Frank, you can separate the wet concrete. When the concrete is sufficiently cured, you only have to bring the inside of the Egcovoid® sheets in contact with water, after which they dissolve. What remains is the required hollow space. Rob de Kok, head of the business office at Max Frank Nederland BV, explains more.

Also applied at the New Lock in Terneuzen

"At the New Lock in Terneuzen, our Egcovoid® sheets were used in the door casings and under the foundation slabs," Rob explains. "Both at the inner head and the outer head. By first placing the Egcovoid® slab on the concrete beams and then pouring the floor, you create a concrete floor with a very flat underside. After the concrete had sufficiently cured, the Egcovoid® slabs were dissolved by adding water. As a result, the concrete settled very securely on the beams. You can leave the dissolved residue of the Egcovoid® slabs in the void, but it can also be drained via a foil hose."

Own R&D department

Max Frank is a manufacturer with its own R&D department and makes products primarily for concrete and steel construction. "We can engineer customized solutions," says Rob. "Hence our slogan 'building common ground'. We think along in solutions aimed at efficiency on the construction site."
