Sustainable concrete throughout the Netherlands

Often unnoticed, but almost daily we come across a great variety of concrete products. The sleepers for the light rail track near the railroad, or those for the light rail in Rotterdam, The Hague and RandstadRail, among others. But also concrete roof and floor slabs in the longest land tunnel in the Netherlands and square pile covers for pile mattress systems.

Then we haven't even mentioned the sustainable concrete sheet piles in along Dutch waterways and the Frisian Lakes, among others, and the many types of foundation elements for solar panels, street furniture and traffic facilities. All from Betonfabriek Nigtevecht. The company has been an independent manufacturer of concrete products for ground, road, water, rail and agro construction for over 60 years. 'Dry cast' production process

The plant produces a variety of custom concrete products by using the direct decasting system: dry cast. In this way, a high daily production can be achieved with a single production mold. In addition to the shorter delivery time, this also allows the product price to be issued competitively.

Custom

A good example of a customer-specific solution, for which Betonfabriek Nigtevecht is known, is the development of concrete roofing sheets for a monumental building on the Amsterdam IJ, the former NDSM shipyard, now the Street Art Museum. The roof - colored yellow over the years - of this piece of industrial heritage needed to be replaced, but the authentic look had to be preserved. They made new roofing sheets, which meet all contemporary requirements, but with the same look, dimensions and ochre color.

Green concrete

Besides ochre yellow, when you think of Concrete Factory Nigtevecht, you also think green. For several years the plant has been putting concrete reuse into practice to provide a sustainable solution. The company applies certified concrete granulate as aggregate in the mixtures, without loss of quality!
