Bobcat introduces new road construction equipment

Bobcat further expanded its already extensive range of compact machines and attachments for civil engineering in the first half of this year. A newly developed compact wheel loader was launched, two small articulated loaders and a new generation of telehandlers. The range of attachments was expanded with new sweepers. A notable introduction was a series of compaction products, consisting of vibratory rammers, vibratory plates and rollers.

Bobcat's first compact wheel loader, the L85, was developed in Europe and uses engines, axles, electronics and hydraulics used in other Bobcat machines. Many Bobcat attachments have also been approved for use on the L85, making it a truly multi-purpose machine.

The most eye-catching part is the cab, which offers not only a very comfortable and ergonomic working environment, but also advanced controls for both the machine and attachments. Soft-touch buttons are placed on the right-hand console and the joystick is also easy to operate. The 5-inch LED touch screen is controlled by the jog shuttle.

Small articulated loaders

With a width of 1 meter and a small turning radius, the two new small articulated loaders, the L23 and the L28, are a good solution for work in places, where space is limited and access is difficult. The design and "sod-safe" mode also make the articulated loaders very suitable for landscaping.

The articulated loaders have 25 horsepower, excellent stability and a tipping load of up to 1.39 tons. The L28 has a telescopic lift arm with two cylinders, which keep the load horizontal when the operator drives the machine. Thanks to the Bob-Tach®-attachment system, a wide range of attachments can be used on the machine. Both articulated loaders are available with a canopy or cab.

New telescopic handlers

The new R-Series telehandlers consist of 12 models equipped with Stage V engines. The lifting height and lifting capacity range from 6 to 18 meters and from 2.6 to 4.1 tons. The new telehandlers have a different hood, providing better visibility from the cab. Much attention has also been paid to the protection of hydraulic and electrical components and operator safety.

Working with the machines is made easier by the combination of a Boom Positioning System, the newly designed precise joystick and the creep function. The low center of gravity and optimal weight distribution allow operators - with or without stabilizers extended - to reach high and far; even with heavy loads.

Vibrating plates and brooms

Bobcat has added compaction equipment to the range because it is an important tool in road construction. Eventually, the range will include seven different product families with vibratory rammers, vibratory plates and rollers up to 2.6 tons. The series of new brooms complements the extensive range of attachments, which includes asphalt tillers, trenchers, soil and asphalt spreaders, graders and trenchers. The five new brooms are available with sweeping widths from 110 to 215 cm, buckets with a capacity of 0.22 to 0.44 m³ and, as an option, with a water tank for the spraying system.
