40,000 tons of bonded asphalt granulate AGRAC

The certified AGRAC mixture was produced in the mixing plant of Gebroeders Van den Brand and Van Oort (GBO) in Uden under strict conditions in accordance with the requirements and production control of BRL2506 with KOMO and NL BSB certification. It involves a total of no less than 40,000 tons, which amounts to just under 1,200 loads.

"The application of AGRAC as a foundation layer provides the road construction with higher compressive strength, greater rigidity and ultimately works to extend its service life," explains Wilko van Oort. Together with Dirk van den Brand, he is the owner and second generation of the family business. "Composing the AGRAC mixture is a specialized task and has to be done under strict conditions and checks for, among other things, compressive strength. At our location in Uden, we can produce AGRAC and various other types of cementitious building materials and mortar with our mixing plant. At the N69, AGRAC type 1 was used. Samples of each badge were taken and tested for compressive strength in the laboratory after both 7 and 28 days."

GBO started production in August 2020 and aligned deliveries with Boskalis' schedule. "The last batches were delivered last period. We not only mixed the AGRAC, but also provided the transport in cooperation with A. van Grunsven Transport. We also broke up the concrete lane of the Luikerweg and various pavement layers on the project and processed the released debris flows in our mobile debris crusher at the project site. At the end of the project we will return again to demolish the culvert bridge in the N397 near the chain park."

Gebroeders Van den Brand en Van Oort is a well-known name in the infra world and has two rubble recycling sites: the home base in Uden and Puinrecycling Oss (at the quay in Oss). GBO also has another sand extraction site: the Maashorstplassen in Schaijk. "In addition to the demolition of asphalt and concrete roads, we also provide earthmoving and deliveries of all types of construction and raw materials. In short, a complete package for road construction."
