All cabling is housed in as many as 25 kilometers of PE conduit, which DYKA delivered to the project in phases and just-in-time.
The cooperation between DYKA and Heijmans goes back many years. "We are preferred supplier and are often involved in large projects right from the contract formation stage in the tender," says Joost Onderdelinden, key account manager at DYKA Steenwijk. DYKA is a producer and supplier of plastic piping systems in PE, PVC or PP for application in sewage, water, air, gas and energy networks. "However, we are much more than a manufacturer. For many parties we really are a partner and technical advisor. So too for Heijmans."

For this project, DYKA supplied PE casing tubes of around 75 millimeters in accordance with load class SDR 17. "Our strength here lies mainly in being able to supply the substantial quantity of PE casing tubes on time and in phases," explains Onderdelinden. "One of our strengths is being able to deliver products just-in-time. In this case, important to prevent the construction site from acting as a storage area. We like to think along in the preliminary process to do things better, smarter or differently. Our Engineering & Consultancy department is always able to optimize designs. This translates into sustainable and cost-effective solutions. A large proportion of the supplied casing tubes are prefabricated by us and delivered to size at Schiphol Airport. This is quite different from delivering a full trailer of standard lengths. There is hardly any waste on the construction site, while we can eliminate waste from the production process.
can reuse immediately."
Amsterdam is an important region and Schiphol in particular is an important client for DYKA. "With 22 branches around the country and two in Amsterdam, we are always close to our clients. It ensures that we can serve clients well and quickly. In addition to PE casing pipes, we have supplied a number of other plastic piping systems through our regular framework agreement with Heijmans. Despite a supplier-customer relationship, we are often seen as a partner. We therefore do a lot of innovation projects, in which both Heijmans and we contribute knowledge to come up with innovative products. One of these is already in an advanced stage," Onderdelinden reveals. To be continued, no doubt!
