Always going the extra mile

ACDE Netherlands has been a household name in the demolition and recycling world for more than 26 years. Since 3.5 years, the company has been carrying the products of Furukawa, a Japanese manufacturer of demolition hammers and concrete crushers, among others. Joost Wassink of ACDE Netherlands explains why, after 20 years, the company deliberately included Furukawa products in its product range. Sales manager of Furukawa Rock Drill Europe Mark Lisman tells in turn about the unique strategy of the Japanese manufacturer and the most recent developments.

ACDE Netherlands' product range for the demolition and recycling industry is extensive. "Anything that you can hang on a crane and is hydraulically operated, we can supply," begins Wassink. "That ranges from demolition hammers and pulverizers to concrete tongs, grabs, shears and vibratory plates. We also have a complete range of hand tools. In principle, we carry several brands, but since the last few years we prefer to push Furukawa products to the front. A conscious choice, particularly also because of the high quality and reliability of the material of Japanese manufacture."

Wassink compares the quality of Furukawa's products to that of Japanese cars. "Japanese car brands also consistently score top marks when it comes to quality and reliability. Moreover, Japanese are dedicated and stand fully behind their product. We are therefore pleased that we are the only ones allowed to carry the products in the Netherlands, together with our colleague company Topp Tools. Since Furukawa is located in the Netherlands to supply Europe and Africa, we have very short lines. We can deliver very quickly. We can deliver parts for 99% the very next day or sometimes even the same day. A unique proposition."

Furukawa demolition hammers may not be the cheapest to buy, but very much so in the long run.

Furukawa is anything but a newcomer to the market. "In 2025, we will exist 150 years," says Lisman. "We are now the global leader in the field of demolition hammers that we produce in our own factories in Japan. Every hammer that leaves the factory is extensively tested. We maintain a completely unique philosophy when it comes to the development of demolition hammers. We place great importance on saving weight in the context of sustainability. This does not mean that we compromise on strength, as we have proven. Our demolition hammers are usually more powerful than heavier ones from other brands."

The generation of pull-rodless demolition hammers is one of Furukawa's many unique products. Lisman: "We are the only player in the world that has rolled out this concept for weight classes between 1 and 4 ton hammers. Fewer parts in the demolition hammer, also means less risk of breakdowns and less maintenance. The concept is available for excavators in the weight class from 1 to 50 tons. We also have a whole range of other products. Among other things, we build large drilling rigs for the mining and blasting industry and drifter tools that are even more advanced than the demolition hammers themselves."

When it comes to service and aftersales, ACDE Netherlands, Topp Tools and Furukawa complement each other perfectly. "We serve the entire country and together with our subdealers and resellers are always on standby," says Wassink. Lisman can confirm this and adds: "The strength of ACDE Netherlands is that they always go the extra mile. Moreover, parts are very easy to order online at www.acdebv.nl. Furukawa demolition hammers may not be the cheapest to buy, but they certainly are in the long run." Recently, ACDE Netherlands closed another deal where the old yellow hammers gave way to 50 new Furukawa hammers.
