Algeco Solar: Plug & Play solar panels for modular buildings

Algeco Nederland launches an innovative solution to make modular buildings more sustainable: Algeco Solar. With this plug-and-play solar energy system, Algeco supports its clients in reducing their energy costs and minimising their ecological footprint. This system extends the Algeco 360° service, which provides a full range of temporary accommodation and infrastructure solutions.

Algeco Nederland introduces an innovative step in the preservation of modular buildings with Algeco Solar. This plug-and-play solution enables the rapid and efficient installation of solar panels on modular roofs. "With Algeco Solar, we help our customers to reduce their energy costs and their CO2 emissions, especially during the summer months when demand for energy for cooling increases," explains Borut Nastran, country manager of Algeco Nederland.

The system consists of five photovoltaic panels mounted on a steel frame and provides up to 2,175 watt-peak per unit. This is sufficient to support the basic needs of a modular container module, such as lighting, air conditioning and network equipment. The flexible frame makes installation easy and cost-effective, lowering the barrier for businesses to switch to renewable energy.

In addition, Algeco Solar aligns with the broader sustainability goals of Algeco and the Modular Group, including the ambition to achieve Net Zero by 2050. With this solution, Algeco is taking a significant step towards a greener future for the construction sector.
