Tendering can be a real challenge for companies, or an almost impossible task. Calls for tender are becoming increasingly complex and contain more and more clauses with legal implications. Not every company has the manpower or knowledge to put together a successful tender. Not to worry, there is professional help!

When Inge van Laarhoven started TenderSuccess in 2008, she could not have imagined that the need for her services would increase so much. "I thought I was diving into a niche," Inge opens the conversation. "There was clearly a need for procurement assistance. Many companies see procurement as a formal and tedious procedure. By helping them, all requirements are met in the tender, they know exactly where they stand legally and, not insignificantly, a tender also becomes a real sales pitch."

It is a misconception to think that only small and medium-sized contractors use the help offered by TenderSuccess. Inge: "Even the very largest construction companies sometimes run out of personnel to take on a tender. We are right at home there. We are often called in within their tender team, as an extra pair of hands, or to bring in expertise that they don't have in-house."

As a procurement lawyer myself, I check whether the conditions imposed are fair and map out exactly, in clear language, what the contractor faces in terms of responsibilities and what legal requirements and consequences there are. Sometimes we even consult with the client in order to negotiate acceptable conditions," outlines Inge.

Knowledge is power

Anyone who wants to take their own level of knowledge regarding procurement to a high level can come to TenderSuccess for training. "Winning writing," for example, is a very popular training at the moment. The short Knowledge Sessions are also very valuable and well attended, such as the Knowledge Session "Creativity" and the "Knowledge Session" Subscribing as a Partnership.
