For more than 37 years, the German company STDS-Jantz - with Scottish sister company N.U.B. Engineering - has been developing high-quality drilling equipment. Drilling materials, hydraulic drilling motors, accessories for different types of substrates and, for several years now, complete mini drilling machines," says Marnik Janssens.
Janssens is a representative of the German manufacturer and runs the sales office in Belgium. "People like to buy directly from the manufacturer, want advice in the process and we speak their language." His office allows him to serve the Benelux and French markets even better. "Meanwhile, more and more Belgian and Dutch customers know how to find their way to us. With Denmark, another interesting country has been added to our portfolio," adds Janssens, "especially given the soil and machinery there."
In addition to STDS-Jantz's standard range of auger drills, hydraulic drill motors and pile driving machines under its own brand name Premodrill, the Belgium office is also the official Benelux importer for the BETEK (wear parts) and EMDE (anchor drilling equipment) brands. "Also German brands. I guess it has to do with the Deutsche Gründlichkeit," laughs Janssens. He notes that Dutch firms make a lot themselves and BETEK's separately available parts are a valuable addition to that. "In addition, there is deep foundation in the Netherlands. Without the addition of, for example, oplastanden, the so-called 'Weld-on-teeth,' a customer may not be able to perform drilling at this depth."
But there are more reasons why STDS-Jantz is interesting for the Dutch market. "Because everything is developed in-house, we optimally match the specific questions from the customer," continues Janssens. "We offer a versatile customized solution, where we don't shy away from even the most difficult challenges. Because of our diverse clientele worldwide, we know what the customer needs, we are up to date with what is moving around the world, and we offer solutions for various geographical conditions and at least as many applications. Our technical expertise combined with the excellent quality of the products ensure high performance and efficient use."
In addition to foundation techniques, STDS-Jantz also provides various drilling techniques. "Such as geothermal and horizontal drilling, which are very current nowadays. Our diversity and flexibility are enormous," Janssens said, concluding, "In this regard, smaller customers are just as important to us as the big ones."
