Unveiling during bauma delivers immediate positive response

The 10-ton Hitachi ZX95W-7 is a compact, maneuverable tire-mounted excavator, which, with its impressive lifting capacity and short turning radius, is made for work in urban environments. Hitachi unveiled the new addition at the bauma equipment trade fair held recently in Munich, where it received immediate attention.

The ZX95W-7 is specifically designed to give owners and operators control over their profitability, comfort, safety and employability on a wide range of projects.

Wilbert Blom, product manager for excavators at Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) - HCME for short - was not disappointed at the unveiling. He calls the positive response to the smallest new model in the well-known Zaxis-7 excavator series understandable, as, "We see that there is a lot of demand for this type of machine and with the design of this new model we are meeting customers' needs. Thanks to flexible options, such as single or dual tires, contractors across Europe can adapt the machine to the requirements of their job site." The first machines are expected to be available from early 2023. That this model looks something like a typical French excavator is easily explained. After all, Hitachi is having the ZX95W-7 built by Mecalac.

Response to growing demand

Like all of Hitachi's Zaxis-7 wheeled excavators, the ZX95W-7 is specially designed to give owners and operators control over their profitability, comfort, safety and employability on a wide range of projects, from road and housing construction to utility construction. The 10-ton ZX95W-7 is a true inside-turner, where the superstructure with cab, engine and counterweight always stays within the grand width of the undercarriage during rotation. This prevents damage when working in tight spaces, close to walls and next to other vehicles, and so on. It is also safer for passing pedestrians/bicyclists and other workers on a construction site. The redesigned cab also helps with that.

More comfort and safety

The cabin is extremely spacious and offers great comfort and quality. The intuitive controls, together with the small steering wheel and four-wheel steering, make it a pleasant working environment. Because the cab offers an even better view over the construction site and a rear-view camera is mounted, the operator and machine itself are well protected from potential hazards and can more easily avoid accidents.

Additional stability is provided by the fact that the sliding blade is located at the rear of the undercarriage. This can be further enhanced with the optional independent outriggers on the left and right sides. Other options include the dog walk, additional counterweight, lubrication system, side view camera, fenders and so on.

The addition of a two-piece offset adjustment boom, combined with the swing arm, makes the machine well suited to a variety of job sites. The 1.85-meter-long boom then provides a reach of 7.75 meters, with a digging depth of 3.78 meters.

Stage V-Deutz delivers hefty power

The well-known Stage V-Deutz TCD 2.9L4 diesel engine delivers a hefty 55.4 kW (75.3 hp) of power. The high performance is due in part to the dual-pump hydraulic system, with an output of 145 l/min for driving and 117 l/min for working. Because the engine block is easily accessible, maintenance and inspections are quick and easy to perform. The ZX95W-7 comes standard with air conditioning, a heated seat with air suspension and an electric fuel pump.
