"A global agreement where we become development partners of Volvo CE. It feels very positive and offers great benefits for our Volvo customers, but also for Volvo's dealers," says Sven-Roger Ekström, Rototilt's Swedish product manager.
Volvo excavators can now be supplied ex-factory prepared for Rototilt's rotary tilt systems. This entails a number of benefits for both the operator and the dealer. The biggest user benefit is that Rototilt's control systems and sensors can now communicate with Dig Assist, Volvo's factory installed digging system, through a smart integration solution.
The new platform is very interesting and offers the best available on the excavator market today. Some solutions, such as Smart Connect, which allows different brands of rotary attachments to integrate seamlessly with our machine and DigAssist, are unique and offer significant added value for the customer," said Kurt Deleu, Head of Excavator Product Management EU/INT Volvo CE.
"Operators have higher demands for a good, simple and functional integration with the excavator for the rotary attachment of their choice, and if it is also integrated with the rest of excavator, it is a really good solution. A solution that meets customers' needs in a good way," says Sven-Roger Ekström, Product Manager at Rototilt.
The result is also a much safer and better implementation of rotary tilt control on the new machines that have this coupling. Something that will probably also be greatly appreciated by the end customers.
The agreement applies worldwide and the technical solution was developed in a joint project with Volvo's 2020 development department. The introduction will be phased with the Volvo excavators EC250 and EC300 being the first to go and delivered as early as early 2021.
In addition to the above benefits, users now have access to secure technical solutions, not least Rototilt's award-winning fully automatic QuickChange™ quick-change system and the SecureLock™ safety system.
