Grab a top brand within engines. Add engineering, testing and service skills. The result? Highly reliable equipment based on sustainable technology. That's what Sandfirden Technics stands for.

"Our products do what they are supposed to do and continue to do it because they are reliable and durable," says Erik de Wit, sales director at Sandfirden Technics. "And that's how we do business." The company has been an exclusive Scania dealer for the Benelux for more than 55 years. "We don't just sell them, we also modify them, according to wishes from the market" continues De Wit. "Our strength lies in making the best use of technical properties and performance of products. And that for the long term."

Euro stage V

De Wit cites changed emissions regulations as an example. "Scania has an EU Stage V engine range, which not only meets the legislation's requirements for emission levels, but does so with lower fuel consumption, lower operating costs and less environmental impact. In other words, a top-notch product! But ... this is not a marine engine." De Wit notes that major engine suppliers do not or hardly enter the marine market because the numbers are too small. "However, the demand is there, so we pick it up!" And so Sandfirden Technics converts the basic Scania EU Stage V engine into an emission-certified marine engine with a power range of 250-400 kW, of which some 25 have already been sold.

From R&D to warranty

Years of knowledge, skill and creativity are traits that are abundant among the company's approximately 60 employees. "With an in-house R&D department, certified welders for construction work and a state-of-the-art test center, our experts do everything possible to technically achieve the optimum and exceed expectations. We don't sell 'no' and don't run away from adjustments that need to be made to serve customers."

Unique and customer-specific

Sandfirden Technics is also a dealer for Thordon, another top brand. It supplies water-lubricated bearings for the dredging industry, among others. "Because we are located on the water and have our own quay, we can perfectly convert ships, completely according to the customer's wishes." De Wit concludes, "We can offer what the market demands."
