Hitachi Construction Machinery Netherlands is packing big for the TKD exhibition. No fewer than seventeen models are showing off on a 40-by-40-meter stand, nine of which are suitable for turning. Whether it's mini excavators, wheeled or tracked excavators, wheel loaders or sustainable solutions for working emission-free, the Japanese manufacturer offers a ready-made solution for every challenge.
Over the years, Hitachi has built up a solid reputation as a manufacturer of reliable quality products. But did you know that behind this robust technology there is often a piece of Dutch labor? After all, a large part of the machines are produced or at least assembled in the European factory in Amsterdam. Those who choose Hitachi are not only choosing solidity, performance and innovation in a modern jacket, but are also buying locally. That's a statement that fits right in with the current zeitgeist, both from an economic point of view and in terms of sustainability.
Hitachi machines are therefore not only sustainable to buy, but also to use. Those who want to work without any emissions have several variants to choose from. In addition to the already well-known ZX55U-6EB, ZX85-6EB and ZX135-7EB, the ZE225 and ZE150W showed off as the firsts on TKD stand 147. These semi-internal excavators with two-piece boom and mobile excavator made their world debut in April at bauma 2025. In Munich, HCME together with partner KTEG presented a total of nine zero-emission models, including the new cable-driven ZE17 mini excavator and the hydrogen-powered ZE300 crawler excavator.
For those for whom the switch to zero-emission is still a bridge too far, the brand offers plenty of options for reducing emissions. All diesel engines meet the most stringent Stage V emissions standards and run on HVO100 biofuel if desired. In medium tracked excavators, Hitachi offers an unprecedented variety of models from 16 to 32 tons. The ZX350LC-7 SLF (Super Long Front) - with an 18-meter-long excavator arm ideal for challenging dredging or loading work - will be on static display at the stand, while a ZX160LC-7 and a ZX300LC-7 can be test driven.
Looking at the mini excavators, in addition to well-known models such as the ZX19-6 (static), ZX19U-6 (demo) and ZX33U-6 (demo), several firsts also showed off at the TKD booth. The 10U SL and 63US 2PB are indoor lathes specially developed by KTEG for powerful performance and extreme precision. The 6-tonner features an adjustment boom and additional counterweight for unmatched lifting performance. In addition, the redesigned cab guarantees even better all-round visibility. Also new is the recently introduced ZX95US-7 as the successor to the popular ZX85-6. A versatile asset on any construction site.
Of course, mobile excavators should not be forgotten, as Hitachi also has a name to live up to in this area. In addition to the electric ZE150W - a 15.5-tonne prototype that is 40 percent more energy efficient and can run for up to 9.5 hours on a 300 kWh battery pack - visitors to TKD can get behind the wheel and joysticks of a ZX135W-7 or ZX150W-7. Both models feature the same Stage V diesel engine, so the more compact variant offers top performance and high-quality comfort in tight working situations.
In addition to excavators, Hitachi also supplies a wide range of wheel loaders with an operating weight of 5 to as much as 25 tons. The five larger models are being assembled in Amsterdam for the European market, namely the ZW160, ZW180, ZW220, ZW250 and ZW310. In the demo bin, enthusiasts can experience for themselves the driving and lifting performance of the 15-ton ZW180-7. The Japanese brand's shovels also excel in power, robustness, safety and comfort. Thanks to a remarkably economical power source and low maintenance costs, customers are assured of favorable management costs throughout the entire life cycle.
The Hitachi Nederland booth is not only buzzing with machines. It is also a meeting place to exchange experiences. During TKD, there will also be a three-day search for the 'Machinist of the Year'. With the compact ZX160LC-7 everyone can perform various agility exercises, while the clock is running... The winner will receive a nice prize and of course the numbers 2 and 3 are not forgotten. Do you dare to measure your skills against those of fellow machinists? Then don't forget to drop by lot 147, because who knows, maybe you will soon win this coveted title.
