Kobelco SK400DLC-10E for Van Groningen Demolition Works

Van Groningen Sloopwerken from Middelharnis, through the Kemp Group, has taken into use a Kobelco SK400DLC-10E demolition excavator. Van Groningen is the first in the Netherlands with a Kobelco SK400DLC-10E and reaches new heights with this Kobelco! We wish Van Groningen Demolition a lot of working pleasure with this demolition giant!

What makes this new SK400DLC-10E special is the demolition boom. The boom, with a reach of approximately 24.7 meters, features the revolutionary and patented NEXT coupling system. Unique is the construction of the demolition boom itself and in particular the double cylinders on the side from the main boom to the intermediate piece. This makes the Kobelco demolition machine very powerful and enables precise and controlled work with a heavy piece of equipment. Between these double cylinders comes another cylinder from the intermediate piece to the stick. These cylinders cross each other. This makes the demolition boom of this 49-ton demolition crane unique. However, it has another important advantage, and that is that the transport height remains very low. This is a problem with many manufacturers. The intermediate section largely determines the transport height. Kobelco has solved this extremely innovatively through the NEXT system. The maximum transport height of the demolition boom comes to just over 2 meters.

Developed for heavy demolition work and long service life, Kobelco's are known for their sturdiness. Needless to say, the cab is tiltable. What should certainly not be missing is a robust cabin guard, which should protect the operator from falling debris, including extra strong laminated safety glass. Where both the top window and front window meet, there are no obstructing struts and the upward view is not obstructed at all. A camera is mounted on the ballast. The images are visible on the multifunction display. Additional cameras are also mounted on the side. The image of these is displayed on a separate screen in the cabin.

Both the travel motors and swing motor have received extra heavy-duty protective plates. The hydraulic mechanism that takes care of extending and retracting the undercarriage has been fitted with heavy-duty guards that protect the cylinders from falling debris or protruding rebar. For dust control, pipes and nozzles are mounted on the boom. The water line has a separate drain circuit so that the water can drain away after demolition.

The Kobelco SK400DLC-10E uses a 6-cylinder Hino engine, which meets Stage V standards. It offers an output of 213 kW at 2,100 rpm. The pumps each deliver a variable flow of 294 l/min. The Kobelco SK400DLC-10 has been equipped by the Kemp Group with additional counterweight, an automatic lubrication system, a FreshFilter overpressure system, running boards all around, additional LED work lights, a hydraulic quick coupler, and the water connection has been moved to the bottom.
