One thousandth emission-free articulated loader delivered
Tobroco-Giant is successfully making inroads with battery-electric mini loaders. The Oisterwijk-based manufacturer recently expanded its offering with the much-anticipated G2700E, with a tipping load of as much as 3,435 kg, and last month reached a new milestone with the delivery of the thousandth electric machine sold to an end customer to Brdr. Holst Sørensen A/S, responsible for the Danish and Swedish markets. This dealership has been loyal to Tobroco-Giant for more than 20 years and was even the brand's first export customer at the time.
Meanwhile, this cooperation has resulted in more than 5,000 wheel loaders sold in the two Scandinavian countries. Because of the special bond between the two companies, the thousandth zero-emission machine was personally handed over by director-owner Toine Brock and his wife Caroline to Christian Petersen and Willi Jønsson of Brdr. Holst Sørensen. With the investment in emission-free equipment, the two companies are joining hands toward a future where 100% emission-free electric work is a requirement. Currently, the powerful machines of the G2200 and G2700 series are already 100% electrically powered. And that's not all...
Leading Tobroco-Giant innovates continuously and responds quickly to market demands. This has resulted in the company becoming a full-liner in compact and durable equipment. A complete line of 24 compaction machines was added to the range earlier this year, with significant investment in electrification. The collaboration with Honda ensured that the Dutch manufacturer was the first to receive approval to put the electric vibratory plate into production. Tobroco-Giant plans to offer a 100% electric version of all models in the future. The electric wheel loaders are widely used all year round, thanks in part to the more than 500 attachments available for a variety of jobs.
Frans van Asseldonk, Head of Sales at Tobroco-Giant: "Compared to other years, we again achieved a plus, both in terms of numbers and sales. Worldwide, we are now the second largest manufacturer of compact wheel loaders. Despite a shortage of engines and certain components, we expect to produce over 5,300 machines this year and for 2023 that number is heading toward 7,000. The production schedule for next year is thus already virtually sold out. That is not to say, by the way, that delivery times are increasing, as several dealers have already ordered a hundred machines or more, including for stock."
"In order to continue managing growth, a new production hall has been built in Oisterwijk and an Experience Center with 650 m² of showroom and training rooms has been commissioned. Investments are also being made in new premises for our attachments and for the Parts & Service department. Everything is aimed at producing 10,000 machines by 2025. That growth is mainly in further electrification. Tobroco-Giant has been active in this field for some time and has recently expanded its range with the G2700E and G2700E X-Tra. Over 1,000 machines are planned to be built in the electrification line alone by 2023."
The Dutch manufacturer is also making giant strides overseas. Tobroco-Giant USA is experiencing that the "land of unlimited possibilities" indeed offers plenty of opportunities to sell many machines in North America and Canada. The versatile articulated loader is quickly gaining ground on the familiar skid steer. Again, the electric version is proving popular for work in high-traffic areas, such as around the Statue of Liberty or in large sports stadiums. The 5-plus-acre site in Cedar Falls, Iowa, is going through a major overhaul in the coming years. For example, construction of a copy of the Experience Center like the one in Oisterwijk will begin next year, and a production hall is planned for 2023.
Recent investments (including a hotel/apartment complex to house foreign employees - how unique is that?) have not missed their mark, as Tobroco-Giant cheerfully continues its steep growth curve in a slightly declining market. "However, we invest not only in volume, both in terms of facilities and model range, but also in customer service and in knowledge within our dealer network," Van Asseldonk clarifies. "For example, someone has been specifically appointed for digital sales support to provide support with online configuration of machines or remote service via our new diagnostic tool."
