Since 2001, Ahlmann Netherlands has been an importer of French Mecalac multi-excavators. The ever innovative Mecalac now also serves the market with a trio of electric machines, an attractive series of Compact Loaders and also devised a particularly safe Revotruck.
Back from equipment trade fair bauma, we may conclude, that in these times full of nitrogen problems, the arrival of the electric machines means a very welcome addition to its program for Ahlmann Netherlands. Indeed, the demonstrations of the new machines attracted many spectators. Such as of the trio of medium-sized electric machines, presented as Zero Emission Ecosystem and including an excavator as well as a wheel loader and dumper. They complement each other well on the zero-emission construction site, as they can load, dig and transport. They are the Mecalac es1000 swing loader with 1,000-liter bucket, the 11-ton e12 excavator and the 6-ton ed6 dumper. Most notably, we are not talking about "minis," but these are now powerful mid-range electric machines.
PR man Peter van Keulen of Ahlmann Netherlands has high hopes for another new series: the Compact Loaders, or Mecalac's new small articulated loaders. The entire program includes six machines with working weights from 1.74 to 2.85 tons. He foresees these Compact Loaders becoming an indispensable tool for professionals active in the agriculture, horticulture, rental and construction sectors: "The demand for these small, multifunctional articulated loaders is rising rapidly, as a convenient replacement for skid-steer loaders and front-loader tractors, for example." In our country, he expects most demand for the following three: first, the MCL2, as it is highly maneuverable thanks to its wheel motor transmission; second, the MCL4+. That, with its 18.4 kW engine, offers the best compromise between compactness and lifting power. Third, the MCL8 with its considerable power, large dumping height and considerable lifting capacity.
Interest in dumpers is also growing and their use is increasing in the Netherlands. Mecalac's Revotruck is intended for heavier work. Safety is always an issue with such a dumper. To drive forward and backward, the operator must constantly turn around or look over his shoulder. The rotating seat proved an awkward intermediate solution. Mecalac now comes up with the "revolution": a rotating cab. The operator can enter and exit from two sides, so it doesn't matter how the cab is rotated. To achieve optimum stability and traction, the central coupling between the two chassis sections can rotate up to 18 degrees. The Revotruck has four equally sized wheels and is highly maneuverable thanks to the different steering modes: front wheels only, all four wheels and crab passage.
