IBEX GS or HS: one letter makes a big difference

IBEX HS forms interesting alternative to traditional gas demolition hammer

Since their launch in 2013, they have been popular with demolition companies worldwide. The IBEX demolition hammers marketed by Dehaco are best known for the GS series. Nevertheless, the lesser-known HS line is increasingly becoming an interesting alternative to the traditional gas demolition hammer.

The GS and HS series are two high quality hammers and both are suitable for the jobs. That's where the similarities end. Both types work in different ways, use different components and have different looks. The GS-type demolition hammer is perfectly compatible with excavators from 800 kg to 60 tons, where the HS model is better combined with excavators from 30 to 100 tons, Dehaco explains the differences.

Built-in security

The HS series (which stands for Hydraulic Silenced) features a number of smart systems that make operators very happy. Such as built-in safety features to prevent the demolition hammer from overloading. This allows maximum efficiency from the oil supply and converts all the energy of the hammer to striking power. Smart valves ensure that the demolition hammer strikes constantly. Convenient for the operator and this prevents unpleasant surprises during work.

The HS models also require less maintenance because there is no nitrogen chamber. Dehaco says, "The design of the hammer and the suspension in the cabinet reduces recoil to the excavator. So that makes for a nice comfortable cabin. In addition to a quiet workplace, it also reduces wear and tear on the excavator."

The HS types are especially attractive on jobs where it is necessary to work for longer periods in a row. In mines, when demolishing foundations, even when demolishing the base of wind turbines. In addition, the high frequency that the HS series has is actually very advantageous when working in quarries.

Huge clout

The GS-type hammers (GS stands for Gas Silenced) have been super popular for years, and for good reason. This is due to the enormous striking power they produce. Once attached to a properly adjusted excavator, these powerhouses can be used for all types of work.

"The enormous power they produce has to do with the nitrogen chamber present," explains Dehaco. "This makes use of the recoil of the hammer: energy is stored until the moment it is needed and is converted to extra striking power, similar to the regeneration system of an electric car. In addition to the extra impact force, the nitrogen chamber also reduces vibration flowing back to the machine carrier."

The GS series is suitable for all types of demolition jobs, both large and small. For daily use or for occasional use. They are always ready for the next job, and with the high efficiency they produce, any job can be completed quickly and safely.
