The company premiered its three novelties, namely a drill motor, a butterfly machine and a cutter, at MATEXPO in Kortrijk. The battery-powered cutter is the standout of their renewed range. This unique cutter was given the name K1 PACE. Its strong performance is equivalent to that of gasoline-powered grinders, but with all the additional benefits for the environment and user.
Husqvarna Construction further expands its battery-powered range with these three new machines. First novelty is the DM 540i drill motor on battery that fits into tight corners, has a low weight and is optimally balanced for an even more productive workday.
The second novelty is the BV 30i butterfly machine, a battery-powered and powerful smoothing iron. It offers its users the convenience of cordless operation and works in all weather conditions, charges quickly and has active cooling. With no direct exhaust fumes, the unit contributes to a more pleasant and less harmful working environment.
The latest novelty from Husqvarna Construction, the cutter K1 PACE, is the first product based on the new PACE battery system. More devices based on this battery system are likely to follow in the near future. The K1 PACE grinder grants its users the power and performance level they have come to expect from gasoline-powered grinders, with at the same time all the added benefits of battery-powered machines for both the operator himself and the environment.
Mattias Holmdahl, Global Product Manager Power Cutters at Husqvarna Construction, further explains the focus on battery-powered devices:
"More and more construction companies are striving for carbon-neutral workplaces. As a leading supplier, we feel a responsibility to contribute to greater sustainability together with our partners and customers. We are particularly proud to release a high-performance battery-powered cut-off machine that supports the transition to a low-carbon economy."
The 300 and 350mm diamond blades of the K1 PACE cutter have been optimized for the battery-powered system, but the grinder and steem itself have also been updated. The unit is additionally equipped with the X-Halt® brake function to stop the blade's rotation in a fraction of a second, guaranteeing greater safety.
"We know what it takes to complete even the toughest work and do not tolerate any compromises in terms of quality and safety. With the K1 PACE, users get a high-performance, battery-powered cut-off machine that generates no direct emissions. They can count on less vibration, a smoother grinding process and less strain on the body thanks to the light weight and optimal center of gravity." states Holmdahl.
In addition to the expansion of its battery-powered product range, the Husqvarna Group is also further expanding its offering in surface treatment by acquiring Blastrac in late 2021. At MATEXPO, they appeared for the first time as one company.
"The acquisition of Blastrac strengthens and complements our ambitions for organic growth as we continue to expand into complementary solutions for surface preparation. This allows us to offer customers a complete range of solutions for any task within surface preparation.", said Henric Andersson, CEO of Husqvarna Group.
Blastrac's product portfolio includes high-quality and efficient solutions for grit blasting, milling, scraping, grinding and polishing and dust collection. The company has 380 employees worldwide with production in North America, Europe and Asia with sales in more than 80 countries.
