Growing range of attachments to make everyone's life easier

What began as an arable farm in 1977, then became an agricultural contracting company and then grew into a trading company. With an equipment package of more than 1000 types, there is always the right attachment. We are talking about Rigter Handelsonderneming from Eemnes. Besides other brands, since 2003 they are the official importer for the Benelux of Kinshofer, a worldwide top producer of all kinds of high-quality attachments. Rigter also provides the worldwide 'material handling' for Kinshofer.

Speaking is Kees Rigter, son of Gerard Rigter, both directors. "My father built the company, is now 72 but still runs the business just as hard. I like to continue what he started."

Sharing knowledge

"We are really into long-term customer relationships. This undoubtedly has to do with the fact that we listen, think along, provide advice and look for solutions. It is important not to be conservative with knowledge, because that makes everyone better. And yes, then your idea is sometimes copied without you having already applied for the patent on it yourself..."

Huge range

"Besides knowledge, our large selection is also an asset. The range of equipment is still growing every week," Rigter says. "We are not afraid to invest. If you have stock, you can switch quickly and deliver quickly. And those rare times when we don't have the requested tool, we always know someone who does and put them in touch with each other." That Rigter is not afraid to invest is also evidenced by the purchase of tools for a large project in IJmuiden. "You just know that when you provide high-quality products, with good service, the customer keeps coming back."

Specialist hydraulic issues

"I can safely say that we are specialists in solutions for distinct hydraulic issues," says Kees Rigter. "In cooperation with HEMOS Machinebouw BV from Meppel, a party that is good at self-driving vehicles, we build special tools, such as saws and power packs.

We are currently developing a special hydraulic power pack. Not standard, but completely as the customer wants it. Of course, we provide everything with CE or TÜV certification." For many years Rigter has worked out clever constructions and ideas and builds special wagons for special applications. Like for circus Krone. "By carrying out various technical modifications to trucks and trailers, we developed, among other things, a hippopotamus wagon with a heated bath that could be raised and lowered hydraulically."

New sorting grabber

Since Bauma 2019, there has been the new latest sorting grab, the D37HPX. "Thanks to the piston with two shafts with worm gears running through an oil bath, there is no need for interim lubrication and this grab is maintenance-free. Virtually all parts that can cause failures in conventional grippers (pins, bushings, cylinders and hoses), we eliminate."

Rental

Rigter Handelsonderneming also has an extensive rental branch and has been a "court supplier" to several major players in the Netherlands for years, such as SMT, Boels, Wymalen & Hausman and Van der Spek. "Also the new players like Next rentall and Matrent now know how to find us. So there is always the right piece of equipment for the right price. In addition, we maintain and supply the relevant hydraulic equipment, to also take care of the overhaul and transport. Rigter concludes, "And with a 24/7 breakdown service, you can always come to us. We like to dot the i's and cross the t's."
