Green breakers; literally and figuratively

The demolition of the Ford plant by THV Ford Genk, a joint venture between Aclagro nv and Aannemingsbedrijf Aertssen nv, is extensive. For two years, work has been underway on the demolition of the buildings located on a 40-hectare site. Among other things, the former offices, the assembly hall, the paint shop, the switching station and the boiler house will be demolished.

The largest building to be demolished is the C Hall: about 16 acres in size and about 25 meters high. The famous blue administrative building and the many small buildings and structures in the A & C zone will also be demolished. And that will involve a real powerhouse!

Versatile powerhouse

The Montabert BRV 65 hydraulic demolition hammer was deployed to ensure the best possible operation. The V65 is the only hammer that can be used perfectly in various applications, such as demolition and mining. The patented automatic variable speeds provide greater versatility and productivity, and thus higher efficiency. Because the V65 has an operating weight of less than 6 tons, it can even work with smaller machines for more power, resulting in huge energy savings. Add to this the impact speed that varies between 380-950 slg/min at an oil flow rate of 380-420 l/min and it is clear why this powerhouse was deployed here.

Hydraulic breaker

Because the 100% demolition hammer is hydraulic, it has a nitrogen output of 100%. Thanks to the innovative energy recuperation system, the demolition hammer achieves a very high efficiency and the optimal lubrication systems ensure minimal hydraulic maintenance. Other important features of the V65 are the fully automatic frequency adjustment system and the fully cushioned and soundproof multi-purpose housing. Finally, there is the patented tool lubrication system TPS to prevent unloaded impact.

Keep it green!

The Montabert demolition hammers used in the demolition of the Ford plant, come from Tramac Benelux, an importer of Montabert for more than 50 years. Montabert products are compatible with bio-oils and organic greases. But Tramac does more and is a member of the Tree-Nation reforestation program, an ecological project aimed at planting trees to combat desertification, global warming and poverty. For every hammer from 1600 kg (type BRV 32 and above), Tramac donates 100 euros to Tree-Nation, which can be used to plant as many as 200 trees. So not only the color of Tramac Montabert demolition hammers is green!
