The N200 runs through Halfweg via the Boezembrug bridge and is an important link in the connection between Haarlem and Amsterdam. But the bridge no longer meets today's requirements. Commissioned by Waterschap Amstel Gooi en Vecht, Gemeente Amsterdam, RWS and Waternet, construction combination ééN200 is working on the Boezembrug that will keep the region accessible and improve the livability of Halfweg.
Cees Abma, foreman at construction combination ééN200: "To create a safe workplace for the people working on the deck of the Boezembrug, we chose the systems and services from PERI. PERI's VARIOKIT system provided a solution for the construction along the edge of the deck of the Boezembrug. In addition, we know that PERI produces a well-thought-out and engineered design that serves its purpose."
"When dimensioning and unloading, speed and safety are very important requirements, PERI is the partner for the job," says Wout van de Weijer, design engineering at PERI. "Especially the special shape of the Boezembrug required a clever piece of engineering and optimal cooperation between all parties." The construction consists of standard VARIOKIT components, which were preceded by a special design.
A suitable solution for supporting the concrete deck edge, despite the low height of the precast beams and their location above the water.
"The flexibility of the VARIOKIT system made it possible to achieve a suitable and safe construction," Van de Weijer continued. "By using straight girders in various sizes, a curve was created for the curve in the bridge. The challenge was mainly in the low height of the prefabricated girders, working short above the water, a sheet pile wall that was 'in the way', the inner curve of the bridge ánd the fact that -after the new deck hardens- the structure must be able to be removed again quickly and easily." Abma adds: "PERI made the calculations, advised and finally produced a suitable design in 2D and 3D. We were completely relieved of this."
PERI delivered the system as complete as possible in elements, including hoisting and assembly plan, so that it was assembled in no time and could also be disassembled quickly later. No challenge is too big - this applies to both PERI and the VARIOKIT system. Abma: "PERI really thinks along in the overall picture, so that a construction was quickly and efficiently erected with which the deck of the Boezembrug can be worked on safely!"
