Long lead time for new equipment works sieve rental.co.uk in hand

Delivery times for new construction, demolition and recycling machines are running fast, and so are prices. As a result, it can pay off considerably to rent a machine, says Rien van Laarhoven of Zeefverhuur.nl. "I recently had to replace a drum sieve myself and I have to wait a year for that. And what it costs is unknown at the moment because of the highly fluctuating prices of raw materials. When renting, you know better where you stand."

Screen Rental.com has an extensive fleet of drum screens, star screens and shake screeners. They can be rented in all shapes and sizes and from several leading brands, such as Terex Finlay, Terra Select, Keestrack, Zemmler or Kleemann. Drum sieves are mainly used by composting companies to sift out wood chips and in the construction and civil engineering world, shake sieving machines are popular. In demolition work, the machine sifts debris from excavated soil, and at asphalt plants where milled asphalt is reused, a shake sieve machine can separate the fine fraction from the raw material. The star screen is a machine ideally suited for separating debris with greasy soil.

Unpredictable

Although business is good, Van Laarhoven does have occasional headaches. "Delivery times for new machines are getting pretty out of hand," he reveals. "If you order a new machine now, a manufacturer can't say what it's going to cost. That makes our work pretty unpredictable."

Van Laarhoven refers to the fact that raw material prices for steel, among other things, have risen by as much as 20 percent. The war in Ukraine, sanctions against Russia, sharply increased energy prices, as well as the aftermath of corona, which has caused a lot of damage to the logistics chain worldwide, is playing tricks on manufacturers of construction, demolition and recycling machinery.

Offering opportunities

On the other hand, this uncertain market also offers opportunities to Sieveverhuur.nl. "For many companies it pays not to invest in equipment themselves for a while now but to rent machines for shorter or longer periods of time."

Zeefverhuur.nl's machines are used throughout the country. "Our machines can be rented with or without driver/loader," says Van Laarhoven. "Transport is also provided by us if necessary, although there are also customers who pick up the machines themselves from our premises in Best. A mobile drum screen, for example, can simply be picked up behind a truck." Rental periods vary from one or two days to six months or longer.
