Mulder BV was founded in April 1969 by Jan & Sien Mulder on the Zuidwesterringweg. They worked solely in forestry, such as sawing trees, pruning, chipping branches, stump grinding, etc. Jan did everything himself together with his 4 employees. After several years, additional machines were purchased, additional people were hired and the company moved to the Artemis. Mulder BV was then also working in road construction and housing.
Most assignments have been and are from large contractors, Rijkswaterstaat, Province and Municipality, but we also do work for individuals and farmers. In 1990 Flevo Transport BV was founded by Maurice Mulder, the eldest son of Jan and Sien. Maurice also started with only 1 truck, on which he drove himself. Currently, there are 10 trucks. There is also equipment to transport different goods such as, tautliners and a semi-low loader. In most cases, the cars are working in agricultural transport such as potatoes, onions and carrots. But they also transport machinery and in case of e.g. return freight various other goods. About 80% is transported in the Netherlands and 20% abroad, mostly Belgium and Germany.
In addition, Mulder BV and Flevo Transport BV have a contract with the Province and the Department of Public Works for smoothness control during the winter months.
Jan, Maurice and Patrick (youngest son of Jan & Sien) currently own all 3.
In addition to the management, administration and workshop chief, Mulder BV and Flevo Transport BV employ about 15 people.
