Compatibility and independence are the basis for success

For many parties in GWW, Infrakit has become a very important tool. But what causes the 'X-factor' at Infrakit? In an interview with Tiny Nuiten, Managing Director of Infrakit, we try to bring that X-factor to the surface.

"When we look at Infrakit, the first thing that stands out is its independence from brands and other platforms," Nuiten opens the conversation. "We are not tied to one specific brand. Machine control or a measurement app? Just connect. The same goes for other data such as documents, reports, photos: Infrakit is compatible with all forms of data and really accepts everything."

At Infrakit, the principle applies: "Shoemaker, stick to your last. Nuiten: "We don't make experimental excursions. We consciously choose to do what we do extremely well. What we don't have in-house, we get from other specialists. Of course we deal with that carefully; these are not the first best companies. After all, we want to ensure quality across the board."

Infrakit allows hardware manufacturers to connect. So do other data processors, such as Microsoft, Viktor, Relatics or Autodesk. "So we are always looking to connect with specialists who interface with what we do and with whom we have overlaps. You establish partnerships and our customers validate the whole thing. Our big customers are constantly digitizing and looking for 'the right tools for the right job.' One of those tools is Infrakit. We provide the connection between all the other tools they use and for that reason play a central role in the digitization story." As an example, Nuiten cites the cooperation with Relatics: "Customers use that and want to test information, hence the integration with Relatics."

Independence as a spearhead

Infrakit values its independence. "We cannot choose only one connection. We want to work openly. Infrakit has become a central unlocker of Building Information Data. Whether it's that one model, that one drawing, that specific photo or that document. With Infrakit, you can very well centralize everything at the front of the chain and make it available to everyone."

Those who start digitizing once will quickly get the hang of it, in our experience. Nuiten agrees. "Yes, digitizing tastes like more. Infrakit is thus a 'gateway' in and out of BIM. You can't access data in BIM any easier," Nuiten explains. "Finally, another great example. Recent experience has taught our customers that by deploying Infrakit across the board, savings were realized between 10 and 20% of the project budget, not a prediction but experience!
