BIA Netherlands takes new step with move to Apeldoorn

As of November 2, BIA Netherlands is officially operational from Apeldoorn. The new branch is located on the Laan van de Stier in Apeldoorn, situated on the A50 motorway at the Apeldoorn-Noord exit. "It is wonderful that BIA now has a high visibility location in the Netherlands and this offers us new opportunities to better market Komatsu, Metso and Portafill. This building also has the appearance that suits these brands" said country manager Bernhard Zoutewelle.

With the move, BIA is setting its sights on the future, a future with our passionate employees who are obsessive about customer satisfaction every day. Focus on work environment and safety to ensure service and quality. Zoutewelle comments on how essential the move to Apeldoorn is to moving forward into the future, "As a team, we have outlined a clear sustainable plan for the future. This plan is only feasible if we catch up with visibility now and can easily expand in the future. The location in Zutphen did not offer both options. The times we live in today are changing the way we set our direction toward tomorrow. In our route to success, we are mindful of current events and confidently taking steps forward, in our own and distinctive way, with our move as a milestone. What we need for this is in ourselves and in all of us; the drive to work towards healthy growth, in which the satisfaction of our customers comes first. It is great that we now operate from Apeldoorn with our driven team in a brand new building to offer solution-oriented service to our customers. The central location and close proximity to the highway makes us easily accessible from all over the country. This is not only more convenient for our clients, but it also means much more logistical flexibility. For our rental division MATRENT, this only offers advantages".

BIA has an office area in Apeldoorn with three floors of 300m² each and a 1400m² workshop with ten overhead doors. Behind it are eight separate workstations and separate areas for metalworking and touch-up of machines. Outside, there is a spacious demo area. "This is also an important asset. Until now, we often had to look for other locations to extensively test our machines. Now we can receive the customer on our own premises and that saves a lot in costs" says Jochem Nagel, aftersales manager at BIA.

Thanks to its modular construction, the building can be easily expanded in the future. Due to the self-supporting construction, the back wall of the workshop can be removed. In addition, a climate-neutral building with solar panels and heat pumps was chosen. As a result, the latest form of air treatment for an optimal indoor climate is applied and the entire building including the workshop is equipped with underfloor heating.

The new branch in Apeldoorn is the final piece of an investment plan with which BIA intends to further actively develop the Dutch market. "In 2019, the BIA Group and Komatsu Europe announced the main elements of their growth strategy in the Netherlands. The investment plan included launching the MATRENT rental fleet, setting up a new Service Center in the west of the Netherlands (Lijnden), headquarters in Apeldoorn, attracting new talent and launching a Komatsu Finance offering. The official opening of our super-modern and efficient premises in Apeldoorn completes this crucial investment cycle and broadens opportunities and solutions we want to offer to our Dutch customers.
