Attero goes for sustainable quality with crusher

Ophof Recycling is making good progress with recycling machines from SBM Mineral Processing. Since August 2018, they can call themselves official dealers of this Austrian quality brand and several new machines have been sold. Last year, for example, Attero invested in a Remax 400.

Because the 52-ton rotor/percussion crusher is special for several reasons, Bouwmat took a look at the main plant in Wilp. As the market leader in our country, Attero processes waste streams from millions of Dutch people and hundreds of companies on a large scale. Whether it is residual waste, organic waste, rubble, soil or plastics, with the production of sustainable energy and raw materials Attero makes a substantial contribution to making our society more sustainable. By maximizing this potential, waste regains value! Some 225,000 tons of VGF waste are processed each year. A large part goes through the fermentation plant, where green electricity is produced from biogas.

The site also has a landfill, where soil is cleaned and rubble broken. The 15-year-old Hazemag crusher has been replaced by a durable and versatile Remax 400. In addition to SBM, Ophof Recycling also carries the exclusive dealership for the Netherlands of the Maskin Mekano, Rockster, Eschlböck and, recently, Anaconda brands. SBM produces mobile and stationary installations to crush or screen construction and demolition waste, asphalt, concrete and natural stone. Robust, durable and reliable are some of the qualities that characterize the machines. In addition to rotor/percussion crushers, jaw crushers are also available, although these are less interesting for the Dutch market.

Attero's SBM Remax 400 is proving to be a well thought out and durable crusher, averaging 200 to 220 tons of debris per hour, with peaks of 270 tons.

FRAAIE SCORE

The Remax series of rotary crushers has five models (200, 300, 400, 450 and 500), with base weights between 23 and 50 tons and maximum capacities of 200, 300, 400, 450 or 500 t/hour, respectively. "In Dutch demolition rubble, the Remax 400 comes to a fine score of 250 t/hour," says Gerrit Ophof. At Attero, production averages between 200 and 220 tons per hour, with peaks of up to 270 tons. Remarkably, the approximately 52-ton machine runs on mains electricity from its own digester. Now that's sustainable! The diesel-electric drive makes a big difference in terms of fuel consumption. SBM has been building electrically driven rotor/percussion crushers with electric control programs for over 70 years.

In the case of the Remax 400, this means that behind the low-noise engine housing is a diesel power unit with an output of 350 kVA (280 kW) based on a modern six-cylinder diesel engine, which meets current emission standards. The rotor is driven directly by a 160 kW electric motor, and the task bunker, discharge chute, discharge belts, magnet and wind shifter are also controlled entirely electrically. Since the electric motor consumes power only as needed, in practice this easily saves 55% of fuel. Instead of 25 to 28 l/hour of diesel fuel, it consumes about €0.07 per kW of electricity "on the pole.

HUGE

Over the years, SBM's debris crusher has proven to be a high-quality product that excels in efficiency, durability and reliability. With a sophisticated wear concept, the latest generation sets the standard in the market. The feed hopper with folding walls has a capacity of 7 cubic meters. The rotor has a diameter of 1,160 mm and is equipped with ceramic impact strips. To obtain various final grain fractions, it can be rotated at four different speeds between 32 and 39 m/sec.
