60 Volvo LNG trucks for Cargo Service Europe (CSE)

All the trucks are rated at 460 hp. The vehicles are used to transport empty cans to soft drink and beer manufacturers and serve to make CSE's current fleet more sustainable. Especially the fact that a considerable CO2 reduction can be realized with (Bio-)LNG was reason for CSE to switch to LNG trucks.

The vision of Martijn Vos, director of CSE, is to create a CO₂-neutral logistics chain for supplying empty cans to soft drink and beer manufacturers, among others. "In order to realize our sustainability vision, we started a dialogue with our customers. The main focus here was how we could jointly shape sustainability and which suppliers could be involved. the best business case have. That's how we ended up with Volvo Trucks Netherlands, Volvo dealer BAS Truck Center and energy suppliers," he says.

Transition to Bio-LNG

CSE sees LNG as a transition fuel to the CO₂-neutral Bio-LNG. "The fact that, with the deployment of Bio-LNG, our transportation to 100% CO₂-neutral, appeals to us enormously. Bio-LNG is not yet optimally available, but after consultation with LNG suppliers we are confident that the share of Bio-LNG will increase significantly in the coming years. Investing in LNG paves the way to Bio-LNG," continued Martijn Vos.

Cargo Service Europe (CSE). from Oss was founded in 2010 and in a short time has become a major player in the Full Truck Load and large volume segment. The company has specialized in the transport and storage of empty cans in which CSE plays a leading role within the Benelux. The company manages the logistics chain: "From the roll of aluminum from which the cans are produced to the can delivered to the customer. We also take back empty pallets.
